Jet Diverted after Threat

A British Airways plane with 118 people on board has diverted to Amsterdam after the airline received "a specific threat to the aircraft"

Flight 983 was travelling from Berlin to London when it made the unscheduled landing at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport.


The jet was escorted by two F-16 fighter planes after the pilot requested the landing for security reasons, BA said.

The plane landed safely and the passengers disembarked.

Authorities are currently checking the jet.
