Bid to take voting out of schools fails
A Hudson mother rebuffed by local officials is taking to the state her fight to boot polling places out of schools.

''Can you guarantee that my children will be safe?" asked Morgan, mother of an 11-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl in two of the four public schools that serve as polling places.

''Can you guarantee that when you go to work tomorrow you won't get hit by a car?" responded Antonio Loura, chairman of the selectmen. ...

2. Could they guarantee the voters won't get shot.....
By a kid who goes ballistic? In the US, that's more likely than terrorists attacking the schools.

3. They don't get the day off of school?!?!?!?!
During my childhood, our district gave all the kiddies the day off. Got to trail my mother to the voting booth... I thought that was the norm everywhere. I guess not - should be, though.

5. Never mind the "Security Moms"...
Watch out for the "Paranoid People"...

Child molestors, terra-ists..Oh, MY! And wait! I'll bet there will even be DEMOCRATS at the polls!

"Can you guarantee that my children will be safe?"
Can YOU, Sally Morgan? They're under YOUR "control" for a larger part of the day that they are the school's. Are they REALLY doing homework and watching Spongebob waiting for you to get home from work?

People want a fucking guarrantee on EVERYTHING!

6. No day off here in CA.
I vote in a school cafeteria - have for 25 years. If that woman is so goddamned afraid of terrorists at her polling place, she should keep her kids home and vote absentee. What a nutcase.

7. God forbid your child be exposed to the general public.
How awful for them. Don't take them to a baseball game or the zoo whatever you do!!!! And there was a shooting in a church a few years back. I think they'd be safest in a locked cage in your kitchen.
