Public invited to discuss pulling of Air America

Managers at Portland radio station WLVP (870 AM) have gotten so many complaints about their decision to drop the Air America talk network that they've decided to discuss the subject publicly.

The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight, at the sales office of the station's parent company, Nassau Broadcasting, at 477 Congress St.

Patrick Collins, general man- ager of Nassau's Maine radio stations, said the event is being held in response to about 100 phone calls and 400-plus e-mails the station has received since announcing on Sept. 20 that Air America would be dropped.

3. They will have 7 or 8 people show up,
decide that the "outcry" was an orchestrated effort, and ...ho-hum..

what NEEDS to happen is this:

An internet push to identify people who are interested, and then a group march on the station at THE PROTESTOR'S decision.. They should notify the newspaper/competiing radio stations, and local tv station i(only IF they expect a huge turnout)...

They should also submit an article to the local paper and or competing radio station, about how the only time they were given was a impossible time opposite the debate...and with no time to even plan to attend..:)

PUBLICITY IS THE NAME OF THE GAME...

9. Also, what about the stations dropping their CBS news segments?
Can these stations legally drop CBS?
