4. Kabul Blast Was Outside U.S. Embassy, No U.S. Casualties
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An explosion in the Afghan capital Kabul was 200 to 300 meters (yards) outside the U.S. embassy and there were no U.S. casualties, a U.S. official said late on Thursday.

"(It was) 200 to 300 meters outside the embassy compound," said the U.S. official, who asked not to be named. "All U.S. personnel are safe and accounted for."

No US Casualties? How many Afghan casualties. Oh that's right, they don't count.

5. More.....
Another NATO spokesman, Valery Putz, said the explosion appeared to be near the peacekeepers' headquarters in Kabul.

A Western security source told AFP the blast was near a media accreditation centre for the elections close to the German embassy.

Several embassies, the NATO international security force headquarters, and the United Nations compound are in the same area of the city.

Reporters trying to reach the scene found the roads blocked by Afghan police and US soldiers.
