FALLUJA, Iraq

<snip>
After six days of intense combat against Falluja insurgents, U.S. warplanes, tanks and mortars have left behind a landscape of utter destruction, with houses flattened, mosques in ruins, telegraph poles blown over, power and phone lines hanging slack and rubble and human remains littering the empty streets.

The U.S. military said 38 American soldiers had died in the weeklong offensive to recapture Falluja and 275 had been wounded. The toll includes three noncombat deaths. U.S. officers said about 1,000 insurgents had been killed and 450 to 550 captured. There was no word on civilian casualties.
.
</snip>

Why am I seeiing nothing of this on ANY of the news channels, at least the US cable news or Canadian CBUT. Plenty about Martha Stewart (Larry King), Scott Peterson (MSNBC), Wal-mart (CNBC) and "Sunday Best" on FOX news ("Bush Cleans House").

Not a single thing about what these poor soldiers and citizens are dealing with in Iraq. Not one damn thing.

putui.

Fighting Breaks Out in Falluja After U.S. Strikes

24 minutes ago World - Reuters

By Michael Georgy

FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - Fresh fighting broke out in the Iraqi city of Falluja Monday after U.S. forces attacked suspected rebel targets with air strikes, artillery and mortar rounds, a Reuters correspondent in Falluja said.

At least five artillery rounds and air strikes hit the city and soon afterwards exchanges of gunfire and blasts could be heard.

U.S. forces also launched sporadic mortar rounds against targets overnight.

5. according to some reports
as soon as a neighborhood is "cleaned out" -- the "insurgents" move back in

meanwhile -- Mosel and other cities/towns are heating up all over the place

soooo -- looks like a photo op for bush* to fly in and land on something in his bunny-suit
