Neil Bush Traveling Through Asia With Rev Moon
"Those who stray from the heavenly way," the owner of the flagship Republican newspaper the Washington Times admonished an audience in Taipei on Friday, "will be punished."

This "heavenly way," the Rev. Sun Myung Moon explained, demands a 51-mile underwater highway spanning Alaska and Russia. Sitting in the front row: Neil Bush, the brother of the president of the United States.
...
Moon's lobbying campaign is "ambitious and diffuse," as the D.C. newspaper The Hill reported last year, and the sheer range of guests revealed just how many Pacific Rim political leaders the Times owner has won over, including Filipino and Taiwanese politicians. And the head of the Arizona GOP attended a recent stop in San Francisco. But perhaps the most surprising VIP to tag along is Neil Bush, George H.W. Bush's youngest and most wayward son, who made both the Philippines and Taiwan legs of the journey, according to reports in newspapers from those countries and statements from Moon's Family Federation.

While Neil Bush and Moon's church couldn't be reached for comment on the tunnel or his speaking fees, a brochure from Moon's Family Federation underscores that the project is "God's fervent desire," dwarfing such past wonders as the Chunnel and heralding a "new era of automobile travel."

1. Moon wants Neil to travel with him
Because of Neil's unbelievable luck in underage Asian hookers just knocking on his hotel doors at random to offer him sex without his having to go out and look for it.

2. I get the impression that...
there's a lot more to Moon's influence on D.C. than anybody is willing to own up to. It's just begging for some deep investigative reporting. Not that anybody does that anymore.

3. sorry, my nitpick with the story...
"demands a 51-mile underwater highway spanning Alaska and Russia"

Actually, it would be spanning the GAP BETWEEN Alaska and Russia.
If it was truly spanning Alaska and Russia, it would halfway encircle the earth.

ok, sorry, that sloppy writing just bugged me.

6. all of the Bushies are Moonies - I just wonder why this gets so little
coverage from our fascist media :sarcasm:

here are a couple more links:

excerpt:

Moon is in the country to open the inaugural convocation of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in Manila.

Together with peace leaders that included Neil Bush, younger brother of US President George W. Bush, Moon arrived yesterday as part of a 100-day tour that is taking him to 100 cities in 67 nations and covering a journey of almost 100,000 miles.

<snip>

De Venecia first brought up the proposal for an interfaith dialogue when he joined President Arroyo during her call on Bush at the White House two years ago.

Bush had reportedly called the proposal "a brilliant idea."

<snip>

Moon’s movement now owns universities in the United States and Korea, and newspapers in North America and Latin America devoted to peace-making and inter-religious dialogues to avert a clash of civilizations.

Who's driving the bus?

The famous term “melting pot” is always used to describe America. However, Reverend Moon came to America over twenty-five years ago but he has not become Americanized at all. Rather he has caused America to become Moonized. (Sun Myung Moon - June 5, 1997)

About this “independence” at the Washington Times.

People say that the paper created from scratch by Sun Myung Moon in 1982, the Washington Times, is “independent” of Moon and his “church.” Everyone seems to instinctively know that the Washington Times’ independence from Moon is very important. Given his belief that he is the Messiah (1) and that the world, according to his plan, is destined to be governed by his organization, their instincts are quite well founded.

The official findings of the 1977-78 congressional investigation into Korean influence on our country, known as the Fraser Report, included the following:

Among the goals of the Moon Organization is the establishment of a worldwide government in which the separation of church and state would be abolished and which would be governed by Moon and his followers. (2)

The Washington Times has served Moon well in many areas, opening doors and gaining credibility for his organization. Moon has certainly received a lot of bang for the buck through his Washington Times project. Sporting losses of tens of millions annually and barely making it into the top 100 in circulation for any paper in the country, it still manages to be one of the most-quoted papers in the world. With Moon distanced behind the curtain, the cry of “independence” provides a rationalization for those who embrace the paper. It allows them to think that they are not following or promoting Moon’s stated goals.

Moon's Billions & Washington's Blind Eye

Somewhere, some political Einstein must have figured out a mathematical equation for computing how much money it takes to gain "respectability" in Washington. It would read something like "perceived respectability equals genuine decency or depravity (expressed in plus or minus numbers), plus money spent on favorable image-building minus money spent by detractors to boost the negatives, times some factor for the quality of the pro and con spinmasters."

Over the past quarter century, Rev. Sun Myung Moon is someone who has practiced the limits of this "theory of perceived respectability." He has spent billions of dollars in the United States to gain a political standing that would seem unthinkable without counting the money.

In Korea during his early years as a "messiah," Moon lustily took on the job of "blessing the wombs" of Korean women supposedly corrupted by Satan's seduction of Eve eons ago. Because of these "purification" rituals, he spent some time in jail on morals charges.

Since then, Moon has declared his goal of ruling the world through a Korea-based theocracy that would "digest" those foolish enough to try to retain their individuality. During Moon's first forays into the United States, hundreds of anguished parents charged that he was "brainwashing" their children into becoming robotic followers who hawked flowers and cheap toys.

7. Exactly. How is it that Congressmen show up at a freaking cult-ceremony..
and nobody wonders what the hell is going on? As a kid, I very clearly remember Moon's ceremonies being covered, and everybody appeared to understand that he was a cult-leader back then (except his members, I guess).

Now he owns a major newspaper, maintains a major lobbying organization in D.C., and has Congressmen showing up to his "coronation ceremony." When, exactly, did this all become so respectable?

8. Poppy Bush invited Moon to the RayGun inauguration
http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Oct04/Fitrakis1019.htm

excerpt:

Moon's influence in the United States increased dramatically when then-Vice President George Herbert Walker Bush, former CIA director, invited Moon to be his guest at the Reagan inauguration. Among other things, Moon has said that he arranged for Jesus to enter heaven by marrying him to a dead South Korean woman. More importantly, Moon's eccentric claims overshadow his connections to the Bush family.

In September 1995, Bush the Elder announced he would be spending a week in Japan on behalf of a Moonie front organization, The Women's Federation for World Peace. The current President's father downplayed accusations of Moonie brain-washing of disciples and coercion against enemies. The New York Times noted that the former President Bush's presence "is seen by some as lending the group legitimacy."

In November 1996, Bush the Elder traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to serve as the principal speaker at a dinner inaugurating the new Spanish-language Moon weekly newspaper Tiempos del Mundo. The New York Times noted in 1997 that Moon "has been reaching out to conservative Christians in this country in the last few years by emphasizing shared goals like support for sexual abstinence outside of marriage and opposition to homosexuality." Moon also appeals to the Second Amendment crowd. In March 1999, the Washington Post reported that the messiah owned the lucrative Kahr Arms Company through Saelio, Inc.
