Bush Squeezes In Trip To New Orleans Before Fundraiser

.......”

Bush, however, hasn’t visited the region for 3 months. McClellan said this trip would last less than twenty-four hours — Bush is returning to Washington this evening.

But Bush isn’t even going to spend all of that short period of time in the region ravaged by Katrina. Tonight, Bush will attend a fundraiser at the Palm Beach home of Bush “Ranger” Dwight Schar, who raised more than $200,000 for the President during the 2004 election.

Three months of ignoring the problem, a cursory visit, all capped off with a multi-million dollar fundraiser – pretty much par for the course for Bush in New Orleans.

1. Also...
...in these times of skyrocketing fuel costs, let's not forget that every time Junior heads off to one of these fundraisers, we as taxpayers shoulder the transportation costs.

2. wonder if it was less a photo-op and more a
campaign contribution pusher-upper (as in give me more).... Follow the logic.

Some donors might be getting a little less likely to give quite as generously - I mean bush is a second termer and looks like a lame duck; GOP leaders in congress are looking so corrupt to the public, that it is a growing possibility that they will lose one or both houses of congress. So where is the incentive to give?

Hey you rich donors... there are TONS of opportunities for those who... er... give... have any investment, contracting, real estate or simple "consulting" businesses? We are still handing out big contracts for rebuilding New Orleans... So dig in deeply so you can participate in the gravy train tomorrow - and don't worry about 2006, or 2008 elections - and don't worry about contributing to the destruction of our nation... there is money to be made (off of tax payers and tragedy) so dig in deeply as you write those checks...

*am I cynical, or what.*

3. Well, that's about par for the course.
Bush just "drops in" to check on how things are going. Dismal, of course. But Bush won't see it.

At this point, I think Bush realizes he's not a Marquee Header. I've seen all the photos of the unsmiling faces of ordinary people. Bush trying his best to look "inspiring", "upbeat", "dedicated", "determined". It's all bull-crap and nobody's buying it any more.
