My LTTE to the Sentinel. "Bush goes nuclear"

As I watched his speech last night one thing stood out like a sore thumb. We will now have two carrier battle groups in the gulf, which more resembles fish in a barrel than open ocean where they can maneuver.

I have seen nothing in the mass media (except for a one paragraph report sometime last year) that Iran has the Sunburn anti-ship missile. This, as a google search will reveal, is a supersonic cruise missile, which has the ability to engage in random and sudden maneuvers in it's terminal phase. And we have NO defense against it. At least that's what our navy has said. The reports say that the Sunburn can penetrate the hull of a carrier and end up in the interior where it's warhead can do the most damage, and it can carry either high explosive or nuclear warhead.

The big question that stumps me is this: if I, a civilian, know about the Sunburn and it's capabilities, should not the Commander in Chief know about it also? And assuming that he does, just what could be his motivation in placing all those lives in two carrier groups at risk to something we have no defense against?

The New York Times reported a month or two ago that the Joint Chiefs of Staff had talked the president out of using tactical nukes against Iran's atomic research facilities. Could it possibly be that Mr. Bush is daring Iran to attack our carriers to give him an excuse to nuke Tehran? I hesitate to accuse him of such perfidy, though judging from some of his past actions it certainly can't be ignored.

And if it's true, may God help us all.

2. If I had to guess....
I'd say Duhbya and his puppeteers are preparing the All-New-For-The-21st-Century "Remember The Maine!" moment for the corporate mass media.

These sociopaths are going to sacrifice the lives of our Sailors to further their plans for The American Global Empire.
