The Richmond Times-Dispatch has a moment of licidity

The GOP suffers from a Fox News syndrome -- i.e., its members talk primarily among themselves. In many ways Fox provides a welcome counter to unbalanced networks. In other ways it promotes isolation and retreat -- albeit with a chip on the shoulder and a smirk. Cracks about public education or immigrants might amuse insiders. They leave centrist voters cold. Republicans need to get out of the house more frequently and learn to play with others.

In 1960, Barry Goldwater advised conservatives to "grow up." They did, for a while. Yesterday's vote reflects their regression -- as well as a Democratic seizure of the center. Tuesday's glory went to the adults. With adulthood comes responsibility.

only the same kind will follow.

The T-D doesn't want to admit it but the immigration thing is DEAD with the middle.
