Lesson of the 10th Congressional District: The Internets change everything

The PD undoubtedly had its editorial interpretation of the 10th Congressional results in the can a long time ago. The only surprise is that the writer (probably Brent Larkin) failed to add Brent Larkin to the list of “people to thank” for forcing Dennis to turn his attention to local concerns.

From what I’ve heard, Larkin did more than write editorials about the race; he also played a personal, undisclosed role in recruiting the opposition.

(I’ll leave it to those with a finer-tuned sense of journalistic ethics to discuss how this squares with firing Jeff Coryell from his PD blogging gig for an undisclosed $100 campaign contribution.)

But predictability and hypocrisy aside, the editorial completely misses the real story.

The editorialist writes:

ginned up his fund-raising machine, with over-wrought cries that the corporate elite was out to silence him. While whining about others trying to buy the race, Kucinich raised and spent more money than Cimperman — perhaps more than all his opponents combined...

...

Next question for the PD to explore: Are Joe Cimperman, Frank Jackson, et al planning to support the Democrat for Congress in the Tenth District in November?
