They are leaking oil
The Republicans are great at taking one wedge issue at a time and Keeping It Simple Stupid (KISS) but right now they have three wedge issues going. They don't have a defined message. Too many talking points. Too many moving parts at once. They are leaking oil.

The McCain suspension reflects zero acknowledgment of how their government shut down in the Clinton era blew up on them. McCain looks like he bailed and now has his tail between his legs returning to Mississippi. The only thing they got out of it was a chance for the House caucus to make a grand show of standing up for their principles, even if their principles created this.

The bail out negotiations don't show them in a good light to the middle or most Americans. A great play to sure up the base but at this point if they have to do that they are in more trouble than anyone wants to mention. They look like fools saying that they have to protect the taxpayers while proposing a plan that does not include ownership even though the money is still coming from the Federal government. They are banking on their side's established disconnect between the people and the people's government.

Palin is a disaster. It is awkward watching how awkward the pundits are. The punditry is either in a position of not wanting to publicly humiliate her or they are without a good framing from the normally lightning fast right wing shaping team. This is probably because they have so much going on that they don't have the resources to do all three and they have to let Palin just sit there on her own.

Too many moving parts and they are leaking oil.

McCain has to bring the plane down safely tonight or this whole thing really will really blow up on them.

I know another military pilot like that.

Just another master of disaster.
It seems to be a primary talent of the children and grand children of the right.
