McCain Not Tortured as POW by Bob Miller

Summary: After Bush wiped the floor with McCain in 2004, it was as if Merlin the Magician had waved his magic wand over McCain and said some magic words; McCain instantly became Bush's butt boy.

According to a fellow POW, John McCain sustained some injures after ejecting over North Vietnam, but was never tortured or mistreated. Speaking on the condition of anonymity for fear of what the new Republican Nazi Party, my party, might do to him and his family, he said, "Hell, they didn't have to torture McCain. He talked incessantly. We didn't nickname him "Songbird" because he was cute or had a pleasant voice…"

1. Mccain, the "artful dogger" of fact and truth,
a failure as a son to a military heritage.

2. People won't believe this because they've bought into the McKlan myth.

7. McCain was tortured -- end of story
this is the same kind of shit that was thrown at Kerry ("Kerry wounded himself so he could get a Purple Heart")

"Speaking on the condition of anonymity" . . .

Nasty whisper campaign -- forget it. It's Bullshit

8. McCain was tortured ...

McCain was tortured, then he talked and they found out he was the son of an Admiral. You think he was ever roughed up after that???

11. Or, perhaps,
He TOLD them who his daddy was, traded info for health care, and was given preferential treatment after that.

Based on his spoiled brat persona, privileged upbringing, and less than stellar military/civilian careers, and debase personal life, I think the latter scenario is more likely.

Whatever the truth is, there are ex-POWS who were there with him who certainly do not hold him in high esteem.

This could easily be a trap to create another phoney outrage.

10. I'm a Vietnam veteran and I approve this message. McCain is hiding something.
Bob Miller isn't the only person questioning McCain's account of his POW experiences. Go to Vietnam Veterans Against McCain.com to read some more "interesting" perspectives on McCain.

No one is raising the issue of why John McCain seems to be the only Vietnam POW who has consistently wielded his POW status as a tool for personal and political aggrandizement.

No one is asking why McCain personally lead the charge to SEAL THE POW/MIA RECORDS when Congressional hearings were being held on the status of POW's and MIA's.

Do some reading up on McCain and the medals he was awarded and then tell me that he deserves the adulation he is receiving.

Many valiant soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen were awarded medals for their bravery and sacrifice in the Vietnam War. They and McCain deserve our respect for what they did then, but McCain is asking for more than he deserves.

The truth needs to be known.

12. What you said!
I'm a Viet Nam Era vet(didn't serve in-country), but as a Navy Nurse, was privileged to care for those who did.

John McCain has NEVER passed the smell test, imo. He long ago sacrificed his honor and service in pursuit of his political ambitions.

There are many, many heroes from that war. John McCain isn't one of them.
