Mel Martinez worked for George Bush as Sec. of HUD, he has been a lackluster Senator, he’s lagging in fundraising to hold onto his seat, and he was a miserable failure as Chair of the RNC. He’s retiring, and the position is Jeb Bush’s if he wants it. Of course he has to fight against that Bush brand name, which is a powerful negative.
