1. Where do you get that the problem is of Chinese origin?

I went to the UL link and clicked on two random specific cases. Neither indicates that the offending product is of Chinese origin.

If they don't know, how do you?

Sounds like more of the same racist scapegoating we've been seeing more and more of lately...


UL warns of counterfeit portable cabinet light systems

Northbrook, Ill., USA, March 26, 2009 -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers, manufacturers and retailers that portable cabinet light systems, identified below, bear counterfeit UL Marks for the United States and Canada. These portable cabinet light systems, which consist of cabinet lights, power supplies and appliance controls, have not been evaluated for safety by UL and are not eligible to bear the UL Mark.

The appliance controls sold with these cabinet light systems also bear a counterfeit UL Recognition Mark for the United States and Canada. See UL's Public Notice released March 26, 2009, for details concerning these appliance controls.

Similar portable cabinet light systems are authorized to bear the UL Marks. A distinction between the counterfeit and authorized systems is provided below.

UL Warns of Counterfeit Electric Signs

Northbrook, Ill., February 6, 2009 -- Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) is notifying consumers, sign installers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction that electric signs manufactured by Redwood Sign bear a counterfeit UL Mark. Redwood Sign is not authorized to use the UL Mark on its signs, or represent that its products are UL-LISTED. These signs have not been evaluated for safety by UL and are not authorized to bear the UL Mark.

Date of Manufacture: April 15, 2008 to present

Identification: Attached to the sign is a label that has a counterfeit UL Mark. Issue Numbers GX-143919 through GX-143925, and GT-999987 through GT-99997 also appear on the label. The company name, Redwood Sign and/or "E307455", may also be on the label or found on a separate label.

3. Nice job of selected editing AKA falsifying data
I randomly clicked the next to last link and found that THE COUNTERFEIT LABEL ("counterfeit label" got that?) says "Made in China". That is the SAME COUNTERFEIT LABEL that makes the false "UL Approved" claim. Note that you OMITTED the relevant entry by UL which says "Manufacturer: Unknown"
