Bill Clinton and George W. Bush to Debate in Canada

Mark your calendars. On March 29, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, presidents 42 and 43, will share the bill at Toronto, Canada's Metro Convention Centre for what should prove to be a very entertaining evening:

The event will consist of the two men seated in chairs between a moderator who has not yet been chosen.

No matter how civil the discourse, the thought of Mr. Bush and Mr. Clinton on stage is bemusing, given the animosity of the past 16 years, and the efforts under way to overcome it.

So, should we expect a rumble in the distinctly un-jungle setting that is Toronto? After all, Bill Clinton has forged an unlikely friendship with W's father, H.W. And save for a testy exchange with FOX News's Chris Wallace, Clinton has shown himself to be a master of diplomatic restraint. Mr. Bush, too, has preferred to steer clear of controversy since leaving office, leaving the bare-knuckle attacks to his number two, Dick Cheney. In fact, a more engaging sit-down might feature Cheney going head to head with Al Gore, the VP who preceded him.

One thing to keep an eye on is whether the two men will allow questions on torture. Given the legal consequences for former Bush administration figures, this could be one potato too hot for handling. Otherwise, I suspect we'll hear a cordial conversation with plenty of respectful disagreement.

4. Hit the link....I know it sounds crazy....
What is one to think about this...unless Bill made bargain with the Devil over Hillary. Remember he was palling around with "little George" for the past five years.

It does almost seem like something from the Onion...sadly it's true..

12. Ironic the two pricks will go on stage together.
Bush would not became president without the Clinton scandal, Ironic the two pricks will go on stage together. Clinton has just lowered himself below Monica Lewinsky, Canadians should stock up on Shoes and Cigars and practice throwing them at the two most infamous leaders since Hitler.

2. Hey David Knowles - Clinton SUPPORTED and DEFENDED Bush's decisions on terrorism and Iraq
from 2001-2007. Used HIS considerable influence as last Dem president to help Bush SELL the war to Blair, Dem lawmakers and the American people. He used his summer2004 booktour to vigorously defend Bush from criticisms of the left, especially those being launched by the 2004 Dem nominee.

Bill was on the same page as Joe Lieberman, but, alot more influential in helping Bush get exactly what he wanted. Bush knows DAMN WELL that Clinton renditioned and knows damn well that Clinton helped sell Iraq war for him. Clinton has been the most dependable protector of BushInc since he took office in 1993 and immediately deepsixed BCCI matters for Poppy Bush, Jackson Stephens, and the Dubai and Saudi royals.

3. Hmmm
They might want to promote the correct date:

From Tuesday's Globe and Mail

April 20, 2009 at 5:15 PM EDT

WASHINGTON — Former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will appear together in Toronto next month on a public stage for the first time since Mr. Bush ended his presidency, in a remarkable twist on the cultural cold war that Barack Obama and others are trying to lay to rest.

The two will be appearing at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on "May 29" for a moderated "conversation" that is expected to last about two hours.

6. Despite the rhetoric, Bill has always gotten along pretty well with the Bushes.

Don't they have a famed friendship? Even if I let the aforementioned BCCI out?

"they've Hooked Up to "Do the Town?"

Don't even go there........you can't be serious and it distracts the issue from their National Leadership to pawn it off on their "sexual" wanderings. Since "Chimpy" has never been known to deviate except with Jeff Gannon...to tar him with wanting to have diversions sort of distracts from this post...doncha think?

13. I didn't send him a tie...but I thought he'd do for America what Obama's most enthusiastic
thought in voting for him.. I voted for Carter, Bill and Obama. My hopes were high with all three. I hope I'm noting looking at a strke out on 3. I hope we just learn from our mistakes and finally we get one President who will do what our hopes think he will.
