2. The sight of all these liars eating crow really makes me nervous.

What bigger story are we missing because they are diverting attention by this unified wailing and gnashing of teeth?

4. The Big Story may be that Powers that be decided Bush must GO ! !
There are some thoughtful powerful GOP types who see what a disaster this Administration has become for our Nation and how Bush has destabilized everything, the World, They have to live here to. Bush has totally screwed up the economy. I`ve been reading things here and there that lead me to think some of the important string pullers have decided Bush has to go. He has been a complete disaster as a president. I also think they are worried he is some sort of END TIMER type. Those Christians who can`t wait for all hell to break lose because they believe that will lead to the second coming of Christ. A lot of people say Bush is one. They also call themselves Armageddons. ...Oscar

6. Yes...

... this has been a topic of discussion for a few weeks now. It was evident following the Plame outing (the last straw?) and has ramped up to what it is now. Releveations of CNN having Dept of Defense personnel working as interns; the CIA, Army and moderate senior GOP senators coming out against Team Bush cannot be ignored, either.

7. This is important stuff and I believe there is something to it. The Fact
so many GOP types are starting critisize with such damning statements such as the one in The Nation by Mark Helprin. No Slack Jack from that man. Some of them at the very least do not want him re-elected. He is scewing up their world too after all. ...Oscar

5. Seymore Hersh is wrong
Everything began before the invasion of Afghanistan. America's downfall began with the rounding up of arabs in the US without affording due process. Ashcroft and company were allowed such latitude unabated; therefore, felt that their actions could expanded elsewhere. Afghanistan was invaded and camp set up outside of US jurisdiction to hold prisoners. Again, the Administration's policies on what actions could be taken went unchallenged and so they decided to expand the policy further. There were rumors of detainees being sent to countries that permitted torture so as to keep our leader's hands clean. Once more the voices against such actions remained muted. The more Bush and company got away with, the greater the depravity became until it could be ignored no more.
In our anger and our fear, we allowed individuals with no souls to lead us down into the abyss of immorality. Bush demonstrated his lack of moral fortitude as governor in the way he treated death row inmates long before he became president; yet, he was not taken to task nor denied the position of leadership he now holds. It is of no surprise that he would pick others like him. All with the moral equivalent of the inquisitors found in the Dark Ages of Europe. Yes, Seymore Hersh is very wrong on when all this began.

Bush and Ashcroft share exactly the same rapture whacko additions to the bible.

;) Now that West Nile has escaped from our Long Island biolab, eating crow is a dangerous activity.

9. But how many are questioning the premise of preemptive war?
I have no sympathy for these neocon handwringers. They were willing to prostitute their intellect and sacrifice their honor on the altar of preemptive war - not only that, they were eager to question the patriotism of anyone who dared to question the wisdom or morality of imperialistic triumphalism. Now, using the same standards - why shouldn't they be labeled defeatist traitors?
