1. I'm about a third of the way thru reading it and...
...ow! My brain hurts from the effort to understand just what he is trying to say. It's been said a billion times on DU and I'll say it again - Chimpo is a fricking embarassment to not only his family, but our nation . We have so much to live down...:(

2. thanks, khephra. I'd missed it. So much of the rhetoric is about
"bringing change" to the Middle East and the implications of a "free Iraq" as some sort of beachhead for a regional change of Mid East governments..coupled with the growing references to the "greater Mid East" and the "global war" it really worries me.

And, to extrapolate on Bush's practiced recitation of talking points, the implied "conversion" rhetoric is simply appalling. I don't see how they can keep saying what they're saying without more military action in the region....

3. My, he's a greasy thing!

Q: Mr. President, the Justice Department issued an advisory opinion last year declaring that, as commander in chief, you have the authority to order any kind of interrogation techniques that are necessary to pursue the war on terror. Were you aware of this advisory opinion? Do you agree with it? And did you issue any such authorization at any time?
BUSH: The authorization I issued was that anything we did would conform to U.S. law and would be consistent with international treaty obligations. That's the message I gave our people.
Q: Have you seen the memos?
BUSH: I can't remember if I've seen the memo or not, but I gave those instructions.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We all know what that means. :eyes:

4. heard it mentioned elswhere that this particular response was repeated
a number of times, verbatim, and very-well practiced.
This is the line.
And I think a lawyer gave it to the Busboy.

6. Thanks for suppling the link to bulsh's news conference.
After reading the whole thing, I too have a headache from laughing at the moron the repugnant-cons call a president. This, at least bodes well for "Raygun's", because now they can't say "he" was the most ignorant person to occupy the White house. Indeed, bulsh earns the title "The stupidest chimp ever."

Almost everything he said was a mish-mash of non-sequitors, half truths and outright lies.

9. Time to erase this from the cue cards
"And, by the way, let me remind everybody about Saddam Hussein, just in case we all forget: There were mass graves under his leadership. There were torture chambers."
