"...at least 14 other states are closing their offices to honor Reagan and allow their workers to observe the day, including Texas, California, Oklahoma, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Kansas, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Nebraska, Delaware and Wyoming."
----
"The governor has said the state will observe the day of mourning with a moment of silence and she will attend the funeral with her husband. But in standing with past practice, we will continue to serve the citizens of the state," Granholm spokeswoman Liz Boyd said.

Boyd noted that then-Gov. William Milliken, a Republican, did not close state offices when federal offices were closed after President Lyndon Johnson died in 1973.
