New Messiah crowned in US Senate Building | Portland Indymedia
The Reverend Sun Yung Moon has apparently been coronated the new Messiah in one of our own Senate office buildings.

Should Americans be concerned that on March 23rd a bipartisan group of Congressmen attended a coronation at which a billionaire, pro-theocracy newspaper owner was declared to be the Messiah – with royal robes, a crown, the works? Or that this imperial ceremony took place not in a makeshift basement church or a backwoods campsite, but in a Senate office building?

Some of the guest list:

Cut to the ritual. Eyes downcast, a man identified as Congressman Danny K. Davis (D-Ill.) is bringing a crown, atop a velvety purple cushion, to a figure who stands waiting austerely with his wife. Now Moon is wearing robes that Louis XIV would have appreciated. All of this has quickly been spliced into a promo reel by Moon's movement, which implies to its followers that the U.S. Congress itself has crowned the Washington Times owner.

But Section 9 of the Constitution forbids giving out titles of nobility, setting a certain tone that might have made the Congressional hosts shy about celebrating the coronation on their websites. They included conservatives, the traditional fans of Moon's newspaper: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA.), Rep. Chris Cannon (R-Utah), Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-Md.) and Republican strategy god Charlie Black, whose PR firm represents Ahmed Chalabi’s Iraqi National Congress. But there were also liberal House Democrats like Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) and Davis. Rep. Harold Ford (D-Tenn.) later told the Memphis Flyer that he'd been erroneously listed on the program, but had never heard of the event, which was sponsored by the Washington Times Foundation.

4. This is a real scary jaw dropper. This ceremony is scarier than Ronnie's
funeral. I didn't think I could be surprised anymore...this did it.

5. well, isn't that just ducky?
Moon has always stated that the people of the United States will "bow before him and call him God".

I think I'm gonna :puke:

for more reading on Moon, you can go here:

http://www.newcovpub.com/unification/blessing_ceremony.html

"To indemnify" in Unification Church jargon means to make payment for sin or failure. Do you realize what you just read? This is one of the saddest and most bizarre statements I have ever read in researching cult literature. Rev. and Mrs. Moon claim to be the "True Parents" of mankind, and the Unification Church teaches that they offered their son as a sacrifice (he crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler). In addition, the Unification Church claims that the book, The Victory of Love, is a compilation of messages given by the spirit of Heung Jin Nim Moon, Rev. Moon’s deceased son, from the spirit world, speaking through many different Unification Church members as mediums at many different places and on many different occasions. This is spiritism or sorcery which, of course, is strictly forbidden by God in the Bible (Deut. 18:9- 14, Isaiah 8:19-20, Rev. 22:12-16, Lev. 20:6, etc.), yet is taught and practiced by the Unification Church. From pp. 61-66 of this Unification Church book, a message is recorded which the Unification Church purports to be a message from Jesus. On pp. 65-66 the supposed spirit of Jesus is recorded as saying:

"Bring in the flocks. Bring in the sheep and bring them to the throne of your True Parents. Bring them to the throne of our True Parents, the mighty throne of heaven. And I will place the Crown of Glory on our True Parents’ head. I will lead them. I will show them that the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings and the King of Glory is our precious Lord Sun Myung Moon and his beloved bride Hak Ja Han. They reign as king and queen of the entire universe. And that I, Jesus of Nazareth, known as the Christ, bow in humility before them. I bow before them. Any who will follow me must do the same. I bow before the name of True Parents. I bow before our precious Lords, our True Parents, Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han." (Purportedly by the spirit of Heung Jin Nim Moon, The Victory of Love, NY, NY:The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, 1992, pp. 65-66).

This is total abomination and totally against the teaching of the Bible (Phil. 2:8-11, Eph. 1:21, I Tim. 4:1)!!!

and here:

http://www.americaheldhostile.com/ed010702.shtml

"In the last nine years, the Church poured eight hundred million dollars in cold cash into The Washington Times. 800 million. You have no idea how much money that is. If you deposited that money into a bank, the interest alone, at 10% a year, would be eight million dollars per month. At 12%, it would be even more. That is one hundred million dollars a year. This is just the money that the Church has invested in the American media. With all the other money put together, Father has invested two billion dollars in the providence in America. This is a fact." - Sun Myung Moon June 16, 1997

6. If any of these right wing "Christians" really believed what they preached
They would never support someone who's such an obvious anti-Christ. He claims the mantle of Christ, espouses some weird blood-purification crap that requires you to sleep with him to be saved, (or sleep with a girl who has slept with him, or a guy who has slept with a girl who has slept with him, and so on), and has created his own Bible which is quite different from the Christian one. Yet that gladly welcome his support because he has the money, power, and political beliefs that they admire. It's almost enough to make you believe in this crazy end of the world stuff, watching all the Churches whore out to this anti-Christ cult leader.

7. Interesting
I wonder how much support the GOP would get if this was passed along to the e-mailin' Freepers along with irrefutable proof on how much Sun Yung Moon gave to the 'thug party?

A mention of owning the "Washington Post" wouldn't hurt either.

10. Whats REALLY going on here?
What is he being crowned as? I see some korean text on the video screen shots, but I dont know what they say?

Is he really being crowned messiah? Or is this some other type of honorary ritual?

It is pretty strange, true, but I'd like to know maybe more of what this is really about. ..more context.

13. This was posted
about a month or so ago...scary shit indeed!

Then today while I was driving back from State College, I was listening to a talk show..they were discussing * and his religious right and HOW they're getting the people to vote for him! They were saying that since he thinks he's been chosen by God, the people will vote for him because they think God wants him to be the headpuke again!! I can't believe that people believe this kind of shit!!! What in hell are these people smoking!

15. Holy Anti Christ Batman!
I've read many times how the Moonies were affiliated in dribs and drabs with the religious right. I'm going to bookmark this thread and go do some digging. I do think I recognized the chaplain? of the senate? what's his name Black? in the background of one of you guys posts.

If this is true--the senate office building hosting a coronation to a false Messiah...............well, we are in some deep doo doo.

I like what one poster here said: it's all FUBAR it gets worser and worser.............
