Gov. Jerry Brown Will Aggressively Push Change
##snip##

"As Brown puts every state agency and program on the possible budget chopping block, statewide organizing to protect vital services will be more critical than ever. Grassroots groups have proved very successful around elections, but either disappear or lack the funding to be effective in between elections when activism is critically needed.

This lack of activism will prove deadly for progressive constituencies under Governor Jerry Brown."

1. Saying adios to Arnold
feels like coming in out of the wilderness. Recalling Gray Davis was one of the lowest points in this state's history.

3. Jerry Brown is no tax and spend liberal
He's a notorious tightwad as anyone who lived in CA during the 70's can tell you.

4. I was in CA then, and he was not a tightwad
When he was Gov previously, money was flowing freely in CA. He fought Prop 13 and Prop 4 (the real problem for Governments). He also had a well tuned legislature to work with vice the stream of amateurs we have now. Initiatives passed since he was Gov. are also going to limit what he can do. His only option is to cut deep into the same constituencies that got him elected and restrict cash outflow to other local governments, schools etc. Going to be a helluva fight.
