FORT MEADE, Md. — Just hours after being found guilty at his court-martial, Army Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin said he was ashamed and remorseful over his decision to refuse deployment to Afghanistan earlier this year, but he hedged on questions about President Barack Obama’s citizenship.

“I don’t want to end this way,” a tearful Lakin said to military jurors during the sentencing phase of his trial Wednesday afternoon. “I want to continue to serve ... It crushed me not to be on deployment. I can be on a plane tomorrow. I’d truly do that.”

Lakin, a 17-year Army physician, was sentenced to six months in prison and dismissal from the service on Thursday after being found guilty of disobeying orders and ignoring his deployment orders. In April, Lakin posted an online video declaring he would not return to Afghanistan with his unit until questions regarding Obama’s birth certificate were answered to his satisfaction. The move made him an instant hero to the birther movement, which helped him raise money for his legal defense.

Well, Unless they figured the psychological tests given when you join-up would have eliminated the possibility he's a psychotic, unable to distinguish between reality and his own fantasies. That would mean he was just faking insanity to get out of dangerous duty.

Okay, I get it now. He deserves DD.

3. You just can't fix stupid.......
....and this guy is eat up with it. Who in their right mind would throw away all those years of service by refusing to deploy over something that has been verified more times than Rush Limbaugh's drug addiction? They should charge that ignorant bastard $25K/yr for ignorance above and beyond the call of duty.....and throw him in jail!

These guys talk tough but cry like a fucking infant when they get their benefits removed for being stupid.

5. Gutless prick. Once he saw that the shit was really going to hit
the fan and that all his fervent Birther supportersn weren't going to be able to do shit for him he tried to back away as fast as his little legs could carry him. Fortunately the Military Judge and Jury didn't buy his new-found contrition. Talk about not having the courage of your convictions... asshole.
