'Fahrenheit 9/11' Turns on Box Office Heat
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Director Michael Moore's controversial documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" turned on the box office heat in its first day in theaters breaking single-day records at the two New York City theaters where it played.
The movie, which aims a critical eye at President Bush and his prosecution of the war in Iraq, sold $49,000 worth of tickets at the Loew's Village 7 theater, beating the venue's single-day record of $43,435 held by 1997's "Men in Black," according to distributors Lions Gate Films and IFC Films.

At the Lincoln Plaza theater, "Fahrenheit 9/11" took in more than $30,000 to top the $24,013 set by "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in 2000.

2. This is very good.
Hopefully Allen theaters here in Las Cruces will show it. Hopefully it will make more money and convince more theaters around the country to pick it up. If not then it looks like I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

3. It's now time for all of you impatient people that just
couldn't wait until Friday, like decent folks, to see F911 to tell the rest of us all about it. Start with outside the theater was there pushing and shoving to get in? Were you confronted by angry RW's? Did you have the large popcorn and coke? Did you laugh; did you cry? Did you sneak back in to see it again? Give us the details.

4. Ha!
>>Were you confronted by angry RW's?

This is New Yawk City! It's one of the few places where the angry RW are afraid to announce themselves.

It's sweet...

5. Another short quote from article...

"Groups have organized support for and against the movie, and audiences appear to be keen to see it.

Online ticket service Fandango.com on Wednesday reported that "Fahrenheit 9/11" was making up 48 percent of advance ticket sales for the weekend ahead, compared to 11 percent for "Dodgeball" and 9 percent for next week's "Spider-Man 2"

6. That projects to a $100 million weekend.
In one day on two screens it brought in $80,000. That's an average of $40,000 a screen a day.

This weekend, it's opening on 868 screens for 3 days.

At $10,000 a screen a day, we are talking about a $26 million dollar weekend.

7. Republicans fear Michael Moore
REPUBLICANS FEAR FAHRENHEIT
THE HEAT IS GETTING TO THEM
by Larry S. Rolirad

Republicans are terrified of Michael Moore's movie. It is because the movie is full of truths that the GOP never wanted to be exposed. You will see republicans blasting Moore for his weight, his eating habits, and other nonsense but they will be unable to destroy Moore's message. They will try by using their usual name calling, but they will be unable to erase Bush's seven minute dumb look while he sat in front of a class full of grade school children.

Republicans will rant and rave but they can't destroy the truth. Not this time. Fahrenheit 9-11 will spell doom to Bush and the corrupt GOP this November. I hope that Move-On and the Kerry camp use that seven minutes of Bush looking like the dumbest person ever born on earth over and over again. The airwaves need to be filled with images of Bush looking like the stool pigeon he is. Bush just sat there, clueless and dumber than a stump.

Bush's complete lack of leadership is glaringly displayed during each tick of the clock for seven straight minutes. Remember, Bush had already been told about the first plane hitting the WTC building before he entered the classroom and did nothing. And while Bush was sitting on a stool in the classroom Andy Card came in and told Bush of the second plane striking the second WTC building. Instead of Bush acting like ANY REAL leader he just sat there on his stool holding the child's color book "My Pet Goat". I can safely say that every child in that classroom was more competent than Bush to be President of the United States and Commander in Chief at that moment.

Wake up republicans and stop allowing yourselves to be dupes to corrupt GOP propaganda. Wake up and think for yourselves for the first time in your lives. Stop putting your corrupt political party above the best interests of the United States of America.
