Hate, Demonization, and Violence in Uganda
In the wake of the Tucson massacre, Chip Berlet wrote an essay at Talk to Action which opened:

The idea that vitriolic political rhetoric can lead some people to carry out acts of political aggression or violence against the demonized targets is hardly controversial among social science scholars. The first step is to identify an enemy "Other."

Now the international media spotlight has turned to those American evangelicals, notably Scott Lively, whose demonization of gay people in Uganda has contributed to a climate of hate, violence, and possibly murder.

Political Research Associates (PRA), which published a ground breaking report on the role of American evangelicals in whipping up anti-gay hate in Uganda stated:

1. PRA report said
"The targeting of Kato and other LGBT Ugandans follows an intense demonization campaign fostered by right-wing Christian activists from the United States. Indeed, Rev. Kapya Kaoma's investigation for PRA highlighted the role of Christian Right activists including Lively and the serial vilifier Rick Warren."

It is worth pointing out that when Warren delivered the Inaugural Prayer at Obama's request, he was actively connected to Uganda, and only severed his ties in 09, when the world objected to the 'kill the gays bill' that resulted from all the invective and slanders. It was not the bill, but the global outrage that bothered Warren. The bill itself was not a problem for Obama's hand chosen 'minister'.
Jesus, whom we have heard of, said very clearly that only hypocrites pray in public. So to 'honor' Jesus, Warren and Obama pray in public. They do the opposite of what he said to do. And they offer no explanation of that breach save that it suits their own fancy to pray on live world wide TV to honor a man who said only pray behind closed doors. That is, as they say, what it is.
