McConnell takes lieing to an obscene level. This slime-ball can say anything because he is
unencumbered by anything remotely resembling a conscience.

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell declared Saturday that President Barack Obama's legislative agenda is "over," but said GOP lawmakers are willing to work with the White House to do what they "think is right for America."

In a speech Saturday night to a GOP crowd in his hometown, the Kentucky Republican derided Obama for performing "Clintonian back flips" to portray himself as a moderate, but said it's yet to be seen whether the new tone is "rhetoric or reality."

McConnell, who in the past has touted his ability to bring federal spending to Kentucky, took a hard line on cutting federal spending. He said the Democratic president's credentials on spending and debt "are horrible, and he earned it."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REALITY CHECK:

ALL OF THE DEBT INCURRED IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WAS NECESSARY TO PREVENT THE TRICKLE DOWN - DEREGULATION DISASTER - BOTH INEVITABLE RESULTS OF REPUBLICAN POLICIES OF CONCENTRATION OF CAPITAL IN THE HANDS OF FEWER AND FEWER INDIVIDUALS AND ANTI-REGULATION OF BUSINESS ACTIVITY - FROM TURNING INTO THE SECOND GREAT DEPRESSION. BECAUSE OF TARP (initiated by a Republican president) AND VARIOUS ECONOMIC STIMULUS ACTIONS, OBAMA HAS FOUGHT TO SAVE OUR ECONOMY FROM A REPUBLICAN DYSTOPIA OF EVEN MORE DISASTROUS DIMENSIONS.

AS FAR AS THE AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT IS CONCERNED, OBAMA STATED FROM THE VERY OUTSET THAT HEALTH CARE REFORM WAS NECESSARY - BECAUSE THE COST OF HEALTH CARE WAS GOING TO BREAK THE GOVERNMENT'S BUDGET IF WE DIDN'T DO SOMETHING TO REFORM IT. Even with the Corporate Lobbyist party fighting this effort every step of the way the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) was enacted into law.

The CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation estimated that the PPACA along with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872) (which made a number of changes to provisions of PPACA) will REDUCE THE DEFICIT $143 BILLION OVER THE 2010-2019 PERIOD. The Corporate Lobbyist Party has chosen to refuse to accept the findings of the recognized authorities on the cost impacts of legislation, the CBO and the JCT. They have done this without offering any detailed, methodologically-based estimates of their own of the cost/revenue impact of this piece of legislation on the Federal Long Term Budget. (They have stated that the CBO numbers are based upon certain assumptions- which they don't like. Okay, if they prefer other assumptions then let's compare their plan with their assumptions to PPACA with the same assumptions. Oh, I forgot, they don't have a Health Care Reform Plan to compare to!! The point is, taking issue with the assumptions used by CBO is not necessarily a critique of the HCR plan. You have to come up with a plan that when compared to the PPACA, using the same set of assumptions, scores better than the PPACA. But to do that you have to have a plan to compare!)

McConnell and Boehner continue to repeat the nonsensical assertion that Obama is responsible for the recent run-up of the Public Debt when any rational individual knows HE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO TRY TO PREVENT THIS REPUBLICAN DYSTOPIA FROM BECOMING A SECOND GREAT DEPRESSION. THIS NECESSITATED EXPENDITURES TO FUND TARP (again begun by a Republican President) AND VARIOUS ECONOMIC STIMULUS MEASURES TO ENABLE PEOPLE TO FEED THEIR CHILDREN AND MAKE HOUSE PAYMENTS, BUT ALSO TO MAINTAIN DEMAND FOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES BEING SOLD BY BUSINESSES TO PRECLUDE EVEN GREATER LAY-OFFS, WHICH WOULD HAVE LEAD TO AN EVEN GREATER DEPRESSION - WHICH WOULD HAVE REQUIRED EVEN GREATER DEFICIT SPENDING TO REPAIR AND REBUILD OUR ECONOMY.

The Corporate Lobbyist Party is employing their favorite tactic known as 'the Big Lie'. If you are going to tell a lie, make it a whopper, and keep repeating it so that the unthinking public will begin to think it must be true since "so many people (like them) keep saying it.".

By continuously repeating this lie, among a multitude of others, McConnell demonstraates that in the party of sociopaths he is equalled only by John Boehner for being devoid of any moral sensibility. He and Boehner are really just naked opportunism taking the form of human beings.

http://www.cbo.gov/publications/collections/health.cfm">CBO - Health Care Legislation Cost estimate

The Congress has recently approved major health care legislation in the form of two pieces of legislation: the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA, Public Law 111-148); and, following that, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872), which made a number of changes to provisions of PPACA along with significant changes to the federal postsecondary education programs.

On March 20, 2010, CBO released its final cost estimate for the reconciliation act, which encompassed the effects of both pieces of legislation. Table 1 (on page 5) provides a broad summary and Table 2 offers a detailed breakdown of the budgetary effects of the two pieces of legislation. CBO and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) estimate that enacting both pieces of legislation will produce a net reduction in federal deficits of $143 billion over the 2010-2019 period.
