Jon Stewart ThinkProgress expose Fox News lie about Gallup Poll results re Union-busting by Wisc Gov
Edited on Thu Feb-24-11 04:53 PM by Bill USA
Also covered here on ThinkProgress. Gallup's most recent poll results were that 61% of the Public are opposed to Wisconsin Fascist Gov Walker's union busting offensive. Fox News showed a graphic which reversed those results and the Fox GOP shills represented the results that way in an extended conversation. About 20 minutes later about a minute before the show went off the air they showed another graphic accurately representing the actual results of the poll. Of course, since the show then went off the air, there was no extended conversation re the "error" or the actual results.

"When reality fails (to support their agenda) Fox substitutes lies (Hey, that's the Conservative's prerogative, Right?)

Yesterday, USA Today and Gallup released a new poll that found that a whopping http://themoderatevoice.com/102199/usa-todaygallup-poll-61-oppose-limiting-union-bargaining-power/">61 percent of Americans oppose efforts like those of Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) to strip public sector unions of collective bargaining rights. The poll also found that only a third of Americans support such a policy, indicating that Walker is pandering to the far-right of the American electorate and is hardly representative of mainstream political thought in this country.

This morning, during a debate about the situation in Wisconsin and collective bargaining rights in general, the Fox News show Fox & Friends referenced the USA Today/Gallup poll. With incredible brazenness, the Fox hosts actually reversed the results of the poll in order to claim that two-thirds of Americans supported Wisconsin-style laws rather than opposed them.

.....In the final minute of the Fox & Friends episode, Kilmeade issued a correction and made an apology for reversing the numbers

6. "Reverend Moon" still owns a controlling interest in "Fox News"
doesn't he? He is the head of the "Moonies."
Can this be legal?
I know that we are no longer a "nation of laws", unless you are not wealthy, but this is beyond the pale.....

7. Fox News jig is up.
They have been lying for 15 years and will never stop. Sadly, enough Americans are now hurting and being severely impacted by the policies that Fox Lies has supported - and enough outlets like Media Matters, Think Progress and especially Jon Stewart have been unflinching in exposing them - that now we see a real blowback against their duplicity.

Once the word is out that the emperor has no clothes, there's no going back to the comfortable unreality without real effort to remain deluded...or so I hope!
