Pushing Nuptials for Bert and Ernie is the Wrong Approach
Sesame Street says Bert and Ernie aren't gay (or straight, for that matter) and has no plans to walk them down the aisle.

Does Sesame Street have a responsibility to depict same-sex relationships as healthy and positive? Absolutely. It should address the issue head-on, in the spirit of respect and friendship that has been the hallmark of this show. The entire issue of whether Bert and Ernie are gay or should get married is simply a distraction from this core point.

1. No sexual orientation
None - Nata - zero - zilch!

"Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets™ do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation."

2. Can't tell whether you are joking or not, but I believe people should be allowed to be
non-sexual. The requirement to be sexual is one of the major forms of psychological abuse in our world.

I'm speaking as a 67 year old heterosexual woman who has been married for 40 years, sometimes happily sometimes not.

I know this sounds like a joke, but I'm not kidding.

4. I agree with you
This meme of "OMG if you're not having hot sex eight times a week you must be dead" is inflicting psychological harm on everybody, especially young girls.

3. let it be
Same sex couples reflect diverse society that is our culture/reality/the way the world is with its richness in diversity.

B&E relationships can go on and no it does not require one has to have a physiology/anatomy discussion with pre-schoolers....If they don't ask, don't bring it up.

Relax
