Occupy America needs only one goal: ban corporate personhood
Banning the GOP is a worthy goal but sounds too incendiary
A constitutional amendment banning corporate personhood -- now that can fly and accomplishes most objectives

And how do you propose to get it passed by dozens of state legislatures...
...not to mention the Republican-controlled House of Representatives?

1. So, you're saying that everything was okay before the Citizens United decision?
I'm guessing some people would disagree with you...

2. That's a start. But definitely not even close to the "one goal."
The entire campaign finance system needs to be completely scrapped and started over again with a focus on "one person, one vote" and eliminating everything that gives more power to one person over another, regardless of their income.

4. Who said 'Ban the GOP'?
Not that it wouldn't be my dream come true, but I don't think OWS should get that partisan. Anybody who agrees to all (or most of) the demands and who wants to come on board should be welcomed.

Banning corporate personhood is a start but it won't put an end to our troubles.

6. This is a great goal!!!
This would put corporations back with the framers of our constitution intended them to be. Under the states, not over them.

8. Election Integrity, Money out of Politics - essential
no more stolen elections, hacked voting machines

no more corporate money to politicians

no more making it harder for people to vote

these would all be the foundation for everything else in my opinion.

9. Perhaps someone could come up with the appropriate text
to accomplish this?

On a related note, I've been enjoying the Ken Burns' "Prohibition" series on PBS (got it all taped, watching a bit at a time), and it's a cautionary lesson about amending the Constitution.

11. That would be a good goal
It would straighten out a lot of our current problems. But more than that, the corporations must be strictly limited, as the Founding Fathers intended. After all, they were fighting the East India Trade Co, the ancestor of all corporations since.
