What language does Lott speak?

<cut>

U.S. Sen. Trent Lott was proud of his shot against Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry this week. He called Kerry a "French-speaking socialist from Boston, Massachusetts, who's more liberal than Ted Kennedy."

(cut)

But it's the "French speaking" that is curious. President Bush speaks some Spanish, but nobody has called him a "Spanish-speaking mossback from Texas, who is more conservative than Barry Goldwater."

As far as facts are concerned, Kerry is liberal, at least by Lott's standards, he is from Boston and, yes, he does speak French. He also writes poetry, which, surprisingly, Lott didn't mention. A poet president? Definitely suspicious.

A cheap shot by Lott? "C'est la vie" at the Neshoba County Fair.
