We should send Bush to be Iraq’s president

By Mari Lou Horn/Weilbrenner
Columbia Daily Tribune" -- Editor, the Tribune: When Daddy Bush left Iraq, he was criticized for not finishing the job. When Sonny Boy tried to vindicate Daddy and steal one of the world’s biggest oil supplies, he really created a mell of a hess, as my late husband used to say. The solution to the entire situation is to send Georgie Boy to Iraq as the interim president. He wanted a democracy; let him do the job.

Anyone with a brain knows it can’t be done. The various religious and political factions have been taught to hate each other for generations. Could we have united the American Indians in two or three years before the Revolutionary War? Of course not.

With Bush in Iraq, not only would this country be better off, but we could get on with important business, like stem-cell research, cheaper prescription drugs and effective education. The Constitution says "all men are created equal." What a bunch of bologna. Are kids born blind, crippled, deaf, anything but white and poor equal to those born beautiful, white, in perfect health, rich and all that other good stuff? They sure aren’t treated that way or have the opportunities people like G.W. have.

If all good, smart Americans don’t make a concerted effort to get the 50 percent of the electorate who don’t vote to the polls, this nation is going to hell in a handbasket, and along with them most of the righteous, not self-righteous, people of the world.

1. Hey, give the Iraqi's a break
They've had to put up with Hussein for decades. Now you want to impose Bush on them?

3. Yeah, they don't deserve that.
Bush is our cross to bear.

2. Isn't that what we're trying to do?
His father is/was a foremost expert in throwing elections in other countries with the CIA. He was caught once or twice.

4. That is so fortuitous. I have been trying to get a LTTE off, but it
persists at 8 handwritten pages. However, its thesis is getting rid of Bush by reading great lit and history. I end it by finding the answer in The Prince. It seems that, according to Machievelli, a prince who conquers a state must go there to reside if he wants to keep it under control. See ya', George.

5. How ironic
That you bring up Machiavelli. The Prince was also chemically clean of any moral considerations.
