this.

2. One knows that things like this must be going on

but you just don't want to believe it since you haven't actually read about it in the newspaper. But now we have and it is so very disturbing. What right have we to be doing this to these people, most, if not all, of whom are totally innocent of any wrongdoing. (there goes my blood pressure again)
