LTTE - Stop sacrificing intelligence community ("very unclever")

Stop sacrificing intelligence community

It seems obvious that the Bush White House does not care at all about our national security or defending us against terrorism. The Orange Alert that surprisingly coincided with the Democratic Convention was based on intelligence that was at least three years old. In order to save face, and to reap political gain, the White House exposed an undercover al Qaeda deep mole, Mohammad Naeem Noor Khan, who was providing authorities with key information in order to nab people like Osama bin Laden.

Condaleeza Rice, our National Security Adviser, no less, said Khan's name was only released for "background," despite opposition from our intelligence community and the fact that British Intelligence says that the White House has destroyed their chances of capturing top terrorist suspects. British Home Secretary Blunkett rebuked Bush for hyping the terror alert, and German antiterrorism chief Rolf Tophoven described this as "another debacle," saying that revealing Khan's name was "very unclever."

When is Bush going to stop sacrificing our intelligence community (see also Valerie Plame) and our safety to further his electoral ambitions? Or is he just incompetent?
