Animal abusers a serious problem
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 09:10 AM by perkypat23
A very good article on some recent animal abuses in our local newspaper:

http://morningsentinel.mainetoday.com/view/columns/906498.shtml

So, I had to send a response (pity they probably won't print it):

I read with great interest your editorial equating animal abusers with serial killers & other sociopaths. I agree that people who can easily hurt animals also have no qualms about hurting humans.

By the way, did you know as kids Jeb & George Bush used to insert firecrackers into frogs to see what happened? And that senate majority leader Bill Frist used to do medical experiments on stray cats (he talks about it in his autobiography).

Hmmmm...

(edited to show actual title of article...)

1. Chimp abuses Barney

Barney hates the Chimp. It is not safe for him to carry Barney off of the plane that way.

I have reported Pickles and GW to the ASPCA

2. Animal abuse directly related to sadistic behaviours against humans.
Sick shit. Humanity's willfully ignorant abuse of all other species on the earth is our greatest sin.

4. FBI Behavioral Sciences...
(The people who do the profiling stuff) have said just that: In the large majority of the cases, serial killers have been shown to have started with animal abuse. It is not a form of acting out, especially in children, to be taken lightly.

5. Well, to play devil's advocate
It maybe true that an overwhelming majority of serial killers/mass murderers started with animal torture.

But did every kid who tortured animals turn out to be a serial killer?

NOTE: Never did that sort of a thing when I was a kid. We had kitties and while I wasn't an PETA-level animal lover, causing them pain for my pleasure or curiosity never entered my mind.

Just trying to insert some logic here, though I end to agree that having an Emperor who got his start blowing up frogs IS a bad sign and perhaps portends serious character flaws.

But, human diversity of personality & thought being what it is, I can guarantee you that somewhere among the 300 million people in this country is a person who did terrible things to animals as a child but straightened out and now helps animals or marches for PETA or something.

Probably dozens, perhaps hundreds of them, if you incldue everyone in the nation.

6. Lots of kids in kindergarten--
--hit each other and take each other's toys. Mostly, they get corrected until they quit doing it. That's generally known as socialization. Of course the process sometimes doesn't take on spoiled brats like the Sociopath in Chief.

7. Sociopath in Chief...
good term! Methinks (or suspects) the current Commander in Chief gets a hardon every time he hears of more people dying, the more awful the better. Plus if the circumstances are right, it could be used for campaign purposes!
