NYPD to Put 56 Activists Under 24-Hour Surveillance
Report: NYPD to Put 56 Activists Under 24-Hour Surveillance
http://rncwatch.typepad.com/

WABC-TV in New York is reporting the NYPD has launched a massive COINTELPRO-like operation ahead of the GOP Convention. Over 300 police officers have been assigned to travel around the country to "shadow" 56 "anarchists" identified as dangerous by the NYPD. Each activist will reportedly be trailed by one six police officers and one police supervisor. WABC reports: "Sources say detectives are leaving this weekend for Boston, Washington D.C., North Carolina, and California to begin surveillance and tail the protestors as they travel to New York."

1. Gee, if only they could have done this to the actual terrorists
on 9-11 when they had actual warnings about actual strikes in the U.S. But no, some of these people might break some windows. Call out the swat teams!

3. The thing is that the actual terrorists right now are Bush and his Thugs
They are terrorizing our citizens with claims of "terrorists attacks" and with police state tactics against dissenters. 'MURRICAH NEEDS TO WAKE UP for Bush is closer to full establishment of his dictatorship than we think.

7. Let's see: DU'ers whose posts have referenced: Saccho and Vanzetti,
Edited on Fri Aug-20-04 10:22 PM by Miss Authoritiva
Eugene Debs, the Wobblies, Woody (but not Arlo) Guthrie, Emma (but not Ron) Goldman, the Rosenbergs, the Sex Pistols, Der Spiegel, Beavis and Butthead (but not South Park), Fidel Castro's sporting sense of humor, Yasser Arafat's tenacity, Oliver Stone movies (excluding Wall Street and The Doors), the Chicago Seven (minus Tom Hayden), Ben and Jerry's ice cream, hemp clothing, Dave Eggers, and, curiously enough, Toby Keith.

This list is not inclusive, of course; feel free to add to it. But try to think like a 53-year-old law enforcement officer who thinks that Spinal Tap is a real band.
