US To Attack N Korea At End of October?
From Bill Smirnow

From John Whitbeck -

Buried in an article in today's International Herald Tribune, without any particular emphasis, was a significant item of information: -- The United States has scheduled naval exercises off the coast of North Korea at the end of October.

...and there may not be any because the American position in East Asia is weakening not strengthening, the naval deployment is compensation for a weakened land postion.

In any case, the responder to provocations is only nominally N.Korea as they are very weak and a flimsy regime at this point. All provocations will induce responses from China of the very sophisticated kind, increased defense budgets, more procurements of advanced military technologies and contingency plans to invade N.Korea upon any American incursions. At the same time they will up the rhetoric on Taiwan and let washington know they can always have a two front war if they like, (increasing the number of ongoing wars to four).

6. North Korea is actually a threat
I'm guessing Bush will rely on the old Reagan standby of invading a central American Republic.
