http://www.whoslying.org/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=594&Itemid=2The media is going to lie to you. Sure, they’ve been lying to you for years, but they’re going to lie to you again, starting this Monday. How do we know? The White House told them tom and if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Swift Boat controversy, it’s that when the Right tells the press run with something, they run with it, regardless of what the reality is. Don’t believe me? This is what Adam Nagourney reported a few days ago in the New York Times:
Mr. Bush's advisers said they were girding for the most extensive street demonstrations at any political convention since the Democrats nominated Hubert H. Humphrey in Chicago in 1968. But in contrast to that convention, which was severely undermined by televised displays of street rioting, Republicans said they would seek to turn any disruptions to their advantage, by portraying protests by even independent activists as Democratic-sanctioned displays of disrespect for a sitting president. Look at the above paragraph again: Republican sources have told Adam Nagourney (as we can assume they have told all their media lackeys) they are going to portray protestors – even independents with no connection to Democrats -- as “Democratic-sanctioned displays of disrespect”.
Let’s put it another way: They have told Nagourney they are going to lie. They have told him what that lie is going to be. And they have given them the shape this lie is to take: that protests have been orchestrated by the Democratic Party.
