Susan Estrich Unplugged!!!! (Dems not going to take it anymore!)
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 02:30 PM by Skinner
(snip)

You have to fight fire with fire, mud with mud, dirt with dirt.

The trouble with Democrats, traditionally, is that we're not mean enough. Dukakis wasn't. I wasn't. I don't particularly like destroying people. I got into politics because of issues, not anger. But too much is at stake to play by Dukakis rules, and lose again.

That is the conclusion Democrats have reached. So watch out. Millions of dollars will be on the table. And there are plenty of choices for what to spend it on.

I'm not promising pretty.

What will it be?

Will it be the three, or is it four or five, drunken driving arrests that Bush and Cheney, the two most powerful men in the world, managed to rack up? (Bush's Texas record has been sealed. Now why would that be? Who seals a perfect driving record?)

1. ouch!
So how come everyone hates her? The one time I saw her on TV I thought she was pretty effective.

12. We have bad memories of 1988
that's why. The Dukakis campaign broke a lot of people's hearts who thought for sure that the 8 year nightmare of Reagan was over.

Now the Kerry campaign seems bound and determined to do the same thing (and they never had an 18 point lead- nor did they have to deal with today's overwhelmingly far right media).

On thing I'll say for Estrich is that at least she seems to have the ability to learn from her mistakes- unlike Tad Devine, apparently.

Hopefully, Kerry is smart enough to listen to her- because the "independents" are not going to be able to go after Bush effectively by themselves and the Republicans are not going to let up.

3. So after years of whoring on Fox
She finally decides she is a Democrat after all...Look in the mirror Susan, you have been part of the problem - giving a bogus bipartisan cast to Fox and the other RW "News" organizations.

7. So true. I heard her whoring on Hannity's radio show when the RNC and ..
and Drudge were pushing the Clark/Kerry intern story. She was on with Rush and Drudge and was absolutely slamming Clark because she believed that Clark had actually started that rumor.

4. and more than that
Bush cooked the books in texas claiming a surplus that was actually a 4 billion dollar deficit, with the absolute worst education system in the country - #50 out of 50.

The Texas legislature only meets for a few weeks every second year, so Bush' entire government "experience" as governor amounts to only a couple of months out of eight years of governorship - most of which time he spent in closed door meetings with energy producers and polluters, leading to the worst air quality in the United States in the city of Houston.

If there is any doubt about how absolutely corrupt and evil he is, it is the multiple occasions on which he joked about Carla Faye Tucker's demise, and his refusal to commute the death sentence of what was clearly an innocent man based on genetic evidence.

5. She wrote this even before Zell and Cheney's speeches.

"Or how about Dead Texans for Truth, highlighting those who served in Vietnam instead of the privileged draft-dodging president, and ended up as names on the wall instead of members of the Air National Guard. I'm sure there are some mothers out there who are still mourning their sons, and never made that connection. It wouldn't be so hard to find them.

Or maybe it will be Texas National Guardsmen for Truth, who can explain exactly what George W. Bush was doing while John Kerry was putting his life on the line. So far, all W. can do is come up with dental records to prove that he met his obligations. Perhaps with money on the table, or investigators on their trail, we will learn just what kind of wild and crazy things the president was doing while Kerry was saving a man's life, facing enemy fire and serving his country.

Or could it be George Bush's Former Female Friends for Truth. A forthcoming book by Kitty Kelly raises questions about whether the president has practiced what he preaches on the issue of abortion. As Larry Flynt discovered, a million dollars loosens lips. Are there others to be loosened? "

The "Chip and Dale" syndrome. For our younger DUers, Chip and Dale where the overly polite chipmonks in 60s cartoons.

8. Did I read this correctly? Cheney is an alcoholic, too? Drunk driving?
I've never heard this about Cheney before. Not here on DU or anywhere, that I recall. And, she says Cheney is still drinking? :eyes:

10. Yeah, he was young & irresponsible, too!
Hard to believe he was young, but I believe the irresponsible part.

Adding to Cheney resume: Yale asked him to leave.

11. I have watched and watched and watched as these
liars spew the same stupid and lying talking points over and over and over again. I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF IT. I am giving every cent I can afford to the Kerry campaign and I hope to hell they just flood the media with the truth about Bush, Cheney, and the whole cretinous gang. The funny thing is, the REALLY AMAZING THING is, we don't have to lie. The TRUTH about BUSHCO is 10 times as bad as the lies they have been able to make up about Kerry. HOW can even half the people entertain the thought of this lying, deluded moron continuing as our president - what in the FUCK has happened to the gene pool in America? Is it television? Was I sleeping when they turned on the IDIOT machines in the malls of America? Let's give these people a billion dollars to beat this god damned Republican noise machine - I refuse to live the twilight of my life in a country run by the smug trolls that are running it now. I didn't march on Washington and knock on doors and get harassed by the cops 35 years ago to end up in fucking NAZI VILLE USA! Holy shit!! Let's get dirty! God damned lying BASTARDS!!
