NY Times: Book Unflattering to Bush Draws His Campaign's Fire
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/09/politics/campaign/09book.html?th

Here's an excerpt, italics mine:

A representative of the White House recently called Neal Shapiro, president of NBC News, to discourage that network from broadcasting interviews with Ms. Kelley about the book on its "Today'' program and on its MSNBC cable program "Hardball With Chris Matthews,'' a network executive said.

No, not discourage. Order. These cretins have power over the press and are using it full tilt. The whole thing smells of Rove, the maniac drunk on power who has been Bush's puppetmeister for years.

And the Kool Aid drinkers will still moan and groan about the 'liberal media'.

2. After Ten Plus Years of Renery and Others, Zero Sympathy
After seeing the pile of right wing books trashing the former Clinton administration, I have no sympathy for the Boosh regime or its hurt feelings when progressive authors haul it over the red-hot coals.

And the fun thing is that this is only for starters. Historians political scientists, and foreign policy analysts will be trashing the Gee Dubya administration for decades to come.

3. Unfit for Command was okay then?
And that was published by the white supremist Regnery?

On the upside, Kitty's book is already #6 on Amazon! May the outrage continue....

6. Who ever fact-checked Barbara Olsen
or any of the others who trashed the Clintons? Olsen's books were hawked all over the airwaves, including on Larry King, who won't touch this particular Kitty Kelley book, though he had no such compunction with her books on Nancy, Jackie, and the Royal Family.

Just the fact that they don't want this book read may boost sales.
