You Aren't A Democrat
If this lesbian feminist thinks Democrats are obstructionist losers, then by golly, they are!

1. Good article.
These "Democrats" who worship Bush remind me of the articles one sees on far-right websites that go "I myself am Jewish, and even I can see that the 'Holocaust' has been grossly overstated.'"

Zell Miller and Tammy Bruce should have a giant "R" branded on their foreheads.

2. Timely. There's a lot of that going around. Last night ...
Roland Betts (Boy George's frat chum from his Yale days, a Boosh "pioneer" who gave W $50K for his 2001 inauguration, and the guy who had the bright idea of holding the R convention in NY this year) was on Charlie Rose, identifying himself as a "Democrat" and "the President's good friend."

Betts' chatter suggested his understanding of contemporary world events might come entirely from rightwing echo chambers: he managed to hit all the Rovian soundbites about Bush and the war on terror, praising Bush as a humorous fellow and a tough, decisive President -- all without providing any evidence of any kind, not a single illustration of Bush's alleged humor, nothing concrete to illuminate his supposed toughness.

Rose is a talented interviewer and asks hard enough questions, but with pleasant demeanor. Betts' behavior was, at such moments, a revelation: the man is still emotionally a fratboy, whose face contorted into hokey expressions (which he must think make him look honest and which he must have learned in late adolescence) and whose eyes turned away avoidingly, whenever Rose probed too deeply.
