NYT/Kristof: A War Hero or a Phony?
So is John Kerry a war hero or a medal-grabbing phony?

Each time that I've written about President Bush's dalliance with the National Guard, conservative readers have urged me to scrutinize the accusations against Mr. Kerry. After doing so over the last week, here's where I come out:

Did Mr. Kerry volunteer for dangerous duty? Not as much as his campaign would like you to believe. The Kerry Web site declares, "As he was graduating from Yale, John Kerry volunteered to serve in Vietnam - because, as he later said, 'It was the right thing to do.' "

<snip>

The bottom line? Mr. Kerry has stretched the truth here and there, but earned his decorations. And the Swift Boat Veterans, contradicted by official records and virtually everyone who witnessed the incidents, are engaging in one of the ugliest smears in modern U.S. politics.

1. Sweet Jesus!
What would he have needed to do to be seen as deserving of his medals and the heroism that goes with what he did to earn them?
I'll expect the same Q&A regarding Bush's time keeping the skies of southern Texas safe from the Viet Cong.
The whole tone of this piece chaps my ass greatly!

3. Kristof
Hack or Whore?

Congrats for publishing your hit piece right after the military exonerated Kerry's medals and commendations.

So you are either the stupidest bastard in journalism,
or look really hot in fishnets and pumps.

4. not dissimilar to cake or death
I'm glad he finally said it, but the good journalism kudos go to people who take risks and question the status quo when it's not fashionable or safe to do so.

So I'm saying he's a little bit hack and a little bit 'ho

6. You are a LIAR, Mr Kristof
Take your Nazi Party propaganda and stick it up your ass.

The person who HAS "stretched the truth here" and there is the one who turned my Jon into a quadraplegic for life.

But then, you don't care, Mr. Kristof. You're like your other fellow neoconstipated fifth columnists whose loyalty is NOT to the US, but Likud.

I'm tired of seeing my country doing Likud's dirty work.

And I'm tired of liars like you who write continuous Nazi Propaganada in the SCREW YORK TIMES!

7. So, you guys are disagreeing with this:
The bottom line? Mr. Kerry has stretched the truth here and there, but earned his decorations. And the Swift Boat Veterans, contradicted by official records and virtually everyone who witnessed the incidents, are engaging in one of the ugliest smears in modern U.S. politics.

9. Kristoff award
There's a Kristoff Award for defeated liberals. It used to be called the Colmes award, but no one really knows who Colmes is.
