CBS Admits they were Duped, When will the Rest of the Networks Step Up to the Confession Podium?
September 20, 2004
Monday Morning, an hour after Presidential Candidate John Kerry made a strong presentation on the Misleading, Misguided, and Delusional Statements by Team Bush regarding the Run up to War, and the aftermath of the Iraq War, CBS's Dan Rather steals the spotlight on CNN, FOX News, and MSNBC with his statements that documents supplied to him that were used on 1 report about George Bush and his questionable years in the National Guard during Vietnam can not be verified as Credible.
Dan Rather, way to go, thank you for admitting you were fooled on documents, evidence that led you to make a report that now appears to make a portion of your original report not credible.
Way to go to that guy over at Free Republic. Good work, I am impressed on how quick you were able to pick that up. Good job.
Now, when will CNN, FOX, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS step up to the 'Confession Podium' and admit they were duped with faulty intelligence, faulty statements by some 'Intel guests', 'Retired CIA Officers', 'Retired Military Commanders', 'members of the Bush Administration' and everybody else that had been given an opportunity to present to the audiences of the Networks their reasoning, their cases, their evidence against Saddam's Iraq during the run up to the Iraq War.
No one can argue that everything we were told during the run up to war has turned out to be not true. Who supplied the News Network's all of the evidence that has turned out to be not true?
Shouldn't the Networks Start coming clean with their audiences?
How about all those who have been saying lately that Dan Rather Should pack it in, should this same crowd who happed to promote the war, using the intelligence that turns out to be not true pack it in also?
What do you think?
Also, how about some apologies to guys like Scott Ritter? Here is a guy who stood up to the Network War Machine during the lead up to the War saying that his own experience in Iraq, as a Weapons Inspector in Iraq led him to come to the conclusion that all of those other guys saying that Saddam was producing Weapons of Mass Destruction and stockpiling them were wrong. He was labeled an enemy of the United States, a Traitor, and I believe he was also accused of being on Saddam Hussein's Payroll. Should all those who said these things about him 'Pack it In' also?
I tell ya, using the logic and rational that many in the last few days have used to say that Dan Rather Should Pack it in, well, if that standard was put into play with all networks and radio shows, there would be a lot of vacancies for talk show hosts, who knows, maybe Scott Ritter could get his own show eventually!
Anyone remember Dr. David Kelly? Here is another example of demonizing anyone who spoke out against the evidence being used to justify attacking Iraq. He was the guy who allegedly said that officials in Tony Blair's Circle over in the UK 'Sexed Up' Evidence that made Saddam's Iraq look more dangerous to the world than it was. (Anyone want to Argue that Now?)
How about some acknowledgment to Dr. David Kelly who was treated like a criminal, to the point, where he committed a (Questionable) Suicide after voicing out against all of the so called intelligence that gave credibility to the reasons of war, and then being interrogated over whether he said that government officials 'Sexed Up' the now non existent Weapons of Mass Destruction Programs and stockpiles that apparently do not exist. How about some apologies to his family from all those who put pressure on him to drive him to the edge!
I can go on and on and on with more but then I might make many of you bored, but this is my immediate reaction to this story regarding CBS being duped by some documents that cannot be verified. Its 1:50 pm est as I conclude this Commentary on today's 'Big News' that the networks are going to go on and on about for the next few days. But you can't blame them; there are no immediate Hurricanes to cover at the moment.
Seriously though, the question we need to ask is … When will the rest of the Networks Step up to the Confession Podium and admit, that Team Bush and their War Machine misled them? And when will we hear acknowledgments that what John Kerry said this morning during his Cable News Televised Event was factual, that the United States Credibility is on the line.
Americans, Republican, Democratic, and Independent need to understand that the United States of America has reached all time lows on the
'Integrity Totem Pole'.
This has Been another Hard Commentary
