The Saudis just say no to Bush

So you thought Bush had friends amongst the Saudi royals? Think again:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2004/09/21/saudi_arabia/

'The desert kingdom's elite say a second term would be "catastrophic." '

"...I was hard-pressed to find anyone, at any level of society, in Saudi Arabia who speaks positively of President Bush, or looks favorably on the prospect of another four years of the Bush administration in the White House."

...

"They point to the "failed policies" of the Bush administration as cause for their concern: the apparent descent into civil war in Iraq"

...

"Everything is good about America except its politics,"

...

"What's more, many of the Saudis I spoke to believe that Bush's plan to instill democracy overnight in the Middle East is wildly unrealistic."

...

"Bush has caused more harm to America's image than can be imagined."

1. You don't think the SRF would play along with the BFEE?
*wink wink, nudge nudge*

"Make them think that you don't like me until the election."

2. This is more reflective on popular opinion than
the royal families opinion. They have to put up a front to keep the peace at home.

3. The royal family is pretty big....
and the author did mention he was around the elites.

Also, the price of oil staying so high isn't too good for the economy at this late stage of the election.

damn, this was an opinion piece. It sure sounds like news to me.
