Former CIA Agent Says Bush to Blame for 9/11
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0922-01.htm

Former CIA agent Ray McGovern went over what he considers the failures of the intelligence community and current administration over the past few years. He has 27 years of experience as a CIA analyst to draw upon and has dealt with every administration from Kennedy to Bush Sr.

"I have initials for why I think we went to war in Iraq," McGovern said. "O.I.L. O-I-L, O is for oil, I is for Israel and L is for logistics, as in when we have Iraq we have a foothold and a number of bases strategically placed in the Middle East so we can be in control over there and also to protect Israel."

5. Ray has been outspoken for years.
There was a media black-out on him and his message. But he's been telling the truth for years. DUers may recall him being a source of information on the early Plame threads and on Exposed.

6. Dumb question, but
...I'm reading Imperial Hubris by "Anonymous." I heard that the author has since been named, but haven't found who it is yet.

Was it McGovern who wrote the book?

7. No .....
Michael F. Schever. He also wrote "Through Our Enemies' Eyes." Both veteran CI employees, with some over-lapping areas of knowledge.

8. Thanks!
That's what I love about this place. It's like a living, breathing encyclopedia.

9. Sure thing.
Always glad to discuss either one. McGovern is a bit more "liberal," for lack of a better word. If you are towards the end of Schever, some of his opinions may strike you as curious. He's not liberal. (grin) But it is essential to read both of his books before trying to reach conclusions on 9-11 or the war in Iraq.
