The buzz is that we are the prize in this election. We are the golden girls. Move over, soccer moms and NASCAR dads. We are the demographic flavor of the month.
Somebody's been reading the census findings that singles are a huge and growing population. We own houses, have kids and pay taxes. If we could be persuaded to vote, in our millions, we could make somebody very happy. In swing states such as Pennsylvania, we may answer our doors to find Bush or Kerry on the porch with a dozen roses and a box of chocolates.
This is our chance to get politicians to pay more attention to things we care about. Not voting because you think nobody cares what you think is a self-fulfilling prophecy, like not bothering to bathe because you have no friends anyway.
If you want politicians to do something to make your life better, like not send your job to Bangalore or make it so you don't have to keep working for pinheads just to keep your health insurance, you've got to let them know you vote.
