Straight from the Heartland..email from my mom
Edited on Thu Jan-15-04 10:56 AM by Mari333
My mom has filed for bankruptcy...she sent me this email this morning about my sister Jocie...this is whats happening to everyone all over the United States...states are broke, people are desperate..my sister has 6 kids..
The only finger they can ever point to is Bush..period and the domestic policies that are destroying this country...
.........................................................................
Dear Marianne:
Jo got notice that she has to leave her house, probably will have to file bankruptcy, she said. She didn't want to talk yesterday, is pretty well down. I don't know what to do, I can't help money ways.

The state is 4 weeks behind in her unemployment checks and she said she has checks bouncing all over Plymouth, they're excuse is the holidays and they said about 4000 people were without their checks, and you know they dont care a bit about it. Of course that doesn't even mean she has money for a house payment. She should have left that house the very beginning when all this happened, oh well. I can't tell her anything. I just don't know what to do. I'm like you, not spending money anywhere, I'm giving up my caller ID, selling my computer and trying to sell my antique corner glass cabinet to someone, It's just a piece of wood, and I need the money.

I'm fine, not really, I just wish all the Josie stuff would go away, I am so drained about worry and what I should do.
Love MOM
.................................................

so much for the f*cking compassionate conservatives...they throw children out in the cold , and dont care about anyone.
Damn them all to hell.

2. I'm sorry, Mari
it hurts to actually see the results of Bush Inc on "the little people". I hope things get better, I really do.

8. My heart goes out to you
I know that it may not help at this time to say this but remember you still have life which is the most important thing of all. Material things come and go and with life you can acquire more. In this hour you may get depressed but please don't give up hope for it is an anchor for the soul. May the forces be with you.

3. Josie should move to Hawaii
With 6 kids and no income, she can live like a queen there. Free food, rent, healthcare, car insurance, spending money....

Seriously look into it. Hawaii is a welfare haven

6. Hawaii is a welfare haven? hmm
My brother says the cost of living(mainly property) is through the roof. Do they really have castles for the welfare queens?

7. Sure just pack up and move six kids to Hawaii with zero money
Let's see it takes $400. per person just to fly from San Francisco to Honolulu 7 X $400. is $2800. not to mention what they will do when they get there. They don't qualify for any assisstance until they have established residency. Do you think before you type?

4. I am sorry to hear about your sisters troubles. You are correct,
this is happening to people all over the country. We are not without financial troubles ourselves. Luckily we have a house, but it is sucking all of our money right now. My husband is one of the millions who lost his job under this corrupt and vile administration. Trying to pay all of the bills that go along with home ownership is sucking us dry. To top it off, there aren't any jobs out there so the future looks kind of bleak.

My point? I am sick to fucking death of the administration trying to pound it everyone's head that the economy is doing great since * passed his tax cuts. I am sick of all the good news on Wall Street. The good news on WS shows that the tax cuts benefited the wealthy and they are investing more. We don't have extra money to invest right now, as a matter of fact, we are dipping into retirement plans to stay afloat. This joke of an administration can say all they want about the economy, people I know don't buy it. There is a huge gap between Wall Street and Main Street right now that they refuse to acknowledge.

I will be hoping for the best for your sister and her family.

5. These people were people who had voted for Bush now they wont
Thats a key issue...
In the meantime, I pulled up in front of a van that had a bumper sticker on it that said "W 2004" at the gas station today
My stepsons military picture is on my Jeep, and my lisence plate says "GWLIED"...add to that bumper stickers that say PEACE IS PATRIOTIC., RICH MANS WAR POOR MANS BLOOD, WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER, SUPPORT THE TROOPS BRING THEM HOME
The look on the faces of the Bushbots in that car was priceless..
GUILT, and they drove away fast.

They aren't anything but self-serving theives who have not only robbed the treasury, but have robbed middle and lower class americans of what should be "basic rights".

One thing that doesn't get mentioned much on DU, that I notice anyway, is the outrageous cost of natural gas. Since when did heating your home become a luxury? Who is getting rich off the backs of people who can barely afford their gas bills? I hate this administration with a passion. I hate what they have done to this country domestically and the image they have given us globally. With all the damage they have done, I sit in absolute amazement that this will be a "close election". He should lose by a landslide.

10. I'm so sorry for what has happened ...
I'm so sorry for your Mom and sister. This country is so awful.
I wish people would know how this administration has made our country's men, women and children so desperate.
I wonder what kind of Nirvana the right thinks there will be in the end of all of this?
Everyone if they realized it ...is only three disasters away from Homelessness. This place has become completely heartless, cold and full of hatred.
God, I hope it can change and FAST!!
