Personally, I think its fairly boring to just read books in which the author merely agrees with you and solidifies your own opinions.

Its always a bit exciting to look to the other side, not only to get a new outlook on things, and to see what the other side is thinking, but often just to get a nice laugh. You'll either be amazed at how polarized liberals and conservatives in America can be on the same issues (ie. the media--rightwingers are still trying to prove that it's liberal, believe it or not!), or you'll laugh at how idiotic rightwingers can be (taking things out of context, or just plain lying).

So name some rightwing books you've read lately, and what you thought. And if not, your DU homework assignment for the next week is to go to a library (DO NOT purchase these books for heavens sake!) and find a rightwing book, and read it. Don't leave it sitting there--READ IT!

1. I don't. I just hide them at the library
Just kidding, but I've thought about it.

The interesting thing? The Fargo Public Library has all of the recent liberal releases on a 5-6 user hold list for multiple copies of each. But the right-wing books just sit out there on the New / Non-Fiction shelf for the longest time.

I guess Neo-nderthals don't read, or don't read much. But, why should they have to when Rush and Hannity can give them the Executive Summary?

3. I find it more...
boring to waste my time reading books that are replete with lies and half-truths. Life to short to do that

4. I read some of the right wing books
I've read (in the past) Oliver North's (1), Gary Aldrich - quite a few others and just recently read barbara bush's "Reflections." Talk about a doozie - no wonder bushie boy is so uninformed - I have to admit I was rather amazed at how awful that woman is. Anyway - also read O'Neill's "Price of Loyalty" and Phillips "American Dynasty"
