Limbaugh flat-out wrong.
He quoted Nancy Pelosi last night as quoting President Kennedy's inaugural address: "My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." He went on at length saying she was wrong, quoting the "Ask not what your country..." quote. I still thought it sounded familiar. So good old google, and voila: just before the end of the address:

"My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."
John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961.

Wonder if he'll admit he was wrong. But unfortunately I'm at work and can't listen now - heard it in the car. Please someone update me!

1. Would Julius Streicher ever have admitted he was wrong
when caught in a lie?

You have your answer. And it is "no".

5. Another way Limbaugh is similiar to Streicher
from your link:

"Streicher had a low IQ (102) and was considered by many observers to be insane."

Sounds about right. Except the first part applies more to the dittomonkeys than to Limbaugh.

14. Well 102 does not mean he can join the upper 10%, it is ave.
Few of us have Clinton's IQ most at the 100 range or up or down a little.

2. I think you are both wrong
Here is is:

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country.

My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.

Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you

You can also listen to it if you wish.

3. And that makes us wrong in what way?
I know he made the "ask not what your country can do for you" as well. That's a well-known fact. But Limbaugh acted as if that was the only quote she could have been referring to, when just looking at the inaugural address at any of a number of places, easily accessible on the Internet, would have verified her accuracy.

6. You are right....
Limbaugh was exremely lazy on an easily verifiable fact. Very sloppy and he should correct it, but we shall see.

26. Very easy to verify indeed!!!!
With the internet it's easy to see Limbaugh couldn't do some basic
fact checking. If he can't even check something that simple, you
know he's not fact checking more complex stuff.

I'm trying not to think of how Limbaugh has tried to alter JFK inaugural speech.

7. For Limbaugh accuracy isn't necessary or desireable...
and why tell the truth when a lie fits his agenda. Besides he's a strung out junkie.

11. great link
Thanks for sharing it. I just listened to the whole speech. Amazing. I couldn't help comparing JFK's oratory skills to that of *. Talk about a pale, embarrassing comparison.

17. I think it was said at different times.
I am sure the one he said on Jan 20 was taken down as it was said. Why would she make an error like that?

8. What amazes me...
...(and I know it shouldn't) is how he can move so deftly around when he's wrong. His whole point of bringing up the quote was so he could show that she got it wrong, when just having one of his assistants just google "kennedy inaugural address" would have avoided it. He was even having someone queue up the audio of her quote to show how "wrong" she was.

And of course the sheep just eat it up and walk away thinking she got it wrong and chuckling that THEY are smarter than her. Nauseating.

10. When I heard that last night, I knew it was correct but
I wondered immediately if she would be accused of botching the quote. What Pelosi quoted was not the most famous part of that speech but it was an important part of the speech.

13. Exactly.
It's as if JFK took the oath, said "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country," then walked off.

22. Actually he did explicitly acknowledge that he was wrong
It was in the 2nd hour or so - someone called him on it (off-air) and had the reference. He fessed up.

I suppose this means I'm a freeper fasciest - standing up for Limbaugh and all. Actually I think he can be pretty funny.
