HERALD EXCLUSIVE | FIRST OF A FOUR-PART SERIES
Justice withheld
Courts are freely handing out 'withholds of adjudication,' a judicial break that allows offenders to avoid felony convictions
BY MANNY GARCIA AND JASON GROTTO
magarcia@herald.com

In 1941, Florida legislators passed a law that allows judges to quash the convictions of felony offenders, sparing them a life of potential economic hardship and the scorn associated with being a convicted felon.

Much more...http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/7788952.htm

I just cannot believe that this can be happening in the United States of America, even in Florida. God, I hope something can be done to fix this country and Florida.

ON EDIT: This isn't just about Rush, it's about the unbelievable distortion of Florida's entire justice system.

3. Believe me, going absolutely free will be worse for Rush.
The thousands of druggies that admire him will resent his hypocrisy and the self-righeteous-take-responsibility-for-your-actions will have a great silent falling away from him. No matter what, he's only a shadow of the threat to democracy he once was.

5. I agree.........Rush's credibility is entirely gone if he gets this break.
Personally, I think this works better for us than having him become a matyer on a conviction that'll plead out to probation.

This way, he has no more credibility in his strong suit, personal responsibility. He's just another super-rich moralist gasbag that gets special treatment when he breaks the law.
