Why Hillary Clinton would be the perfect Pres. Candidate
1. She has nothing to hide. Every possible, minute thing she has ever done her past has been dragged out and investigated to DEATH. People are sick and tired of hearing about Lewinsky, watergate and travelgate. Nobody cares about these except the Rush Limbaugh Republicans. And continually attacking her for things that have already been proven false will only hurt the Republicans.

2. Since Eleanor Roosevelt she was the most active 1st Lady in the White House. No one can deny that she got a vast amount of Executive Branch training in the Clinton Administration. She is comfortable in the White House and she is comfortable being in command.

3. Everywhere she goes the cameras follow her. And the media is in love with her now. Remember how things changed after Monica and she got her "$20 Haircut". Since then when is the last time you've seen a negative story on her besides on Hardball. (Darn that Chris Matthews!!) SHe is unintentionally glamorous and gets more press attention even now than most of the Presidential candidates. She's a darling of the media.

4. She is POPULAR! She is wildly popular in NY. I was just there and even my Republican friends have to admit she is a good Senator. The Democratic base loves her. Women relate to her. Minorities know that she is with them. And let's face it Democrats today need to court all women and minorities because it's just too costly to move so far to the middle to accomodate "office-park dads".

5. She is a brilliant politician. That trip to Afghanistan... Political play of the year! She reminded America that we are losing the peace in Afghanistan. She knows what to say and when to say it. She knows everybody there is to know. And if she ran the primary race would probably be nothing more than a coronation.

6. She is a great fundraiser. HILPAC (Sp?) is one of the most successful PAC's there is. And with Bill working tirelessly to raise money I think she could out-rase most of her prospective Republican opponents.

What she needs is grassroots support. That's why I want to get something going now. My main concentration right now is to get Clark nominated and then after that to get the nominee elected. But we have 24 hrs in a day people! So please PM me and tell me if you can help.

I need someone who can build a website!

ANYWAY... besides the call to arms, I would love for anybody to rebuttle my arguments.

1. This is so sad...
Everytime I put a ton of effort into writing a post it drifts off into Discussion Board oblivion.

*sob*

5. No thanks
I can name at least 10 democrat friends who would vote for Bush before ever voting for Hillary. I give her half the blame for losing us the house in 1994. I guess you haven't seen the last polls showing that in New York Guiliani and Pataki could probably beat her for the next senate race. Even Stephanpolous called her too polarizing.

4. I would love for her to run
But it isn't going to happen this year. I do believe she will be the first woman President though.

7. and she will not be a puppet
one of my favorite lily tomlin jokes is "i get more and more cynical the older i get, but it's never enough to keep up" lately i have been saying, "ya know, i think i might look good in a tinfoil hat" if i did wear a tinfoil hat, i would think that the hatred of hillary is fueled by the "powers that be" bfee, or whoever it is that is pulling bushes strings. i think bill was impeached because he would not be a puppet. i think * wont be, because he is a puppet. nothing else really makes much sense to me anymore.
this is BY FAR my most popular button.

it is a mystery that baffles everyone.
but hill knows the answer, and she WILL NOT BE A PUPPET, EITHER.
course, i worry about her having to campaign, and flying on small planes.
that said, i think this is the wrong time for her to get into the race. if * is selected again, i hope she declares her candidacy the next day. i will send her a check immediately.

She's not running. Save your energy for 2008 or 2012.

9. Who knows if she's running
thats just it.....we can't trust her. Hillary would put her own ambitions before that of the party any day. The big right wing theory is that she doesn't want any democrat to win so she can run in 2008; that she will sabotage any frontrunner so Bush will win. On this and this alone I believe the right wing is correct. I honestly believe Hillary is looking out for Hillary......not OUR party.

12. While I don't have quite that opinion of her
I'm still not a fan. To me she's just a carpetbagging DLC centrist. But her biggest problem is she is far too polarizing. Right now the freepers pissed at Bush over his spending and immigration plan are not donating and some might even stay home. But if Hillary ran, they'd mortgage their houses to donate.

11. Perfect for Karl Rove
1. You're right. However this has turned some centrists and liberals off to her (I know some), and it means the Freepers will be mobilized. Aside from that, anyone who doesn't think the whore media would jump on all that shit again is quite naive. Her carpetbagging did piss a lot of people off, while it may not be rare, her's was quite publicized. Any election with her would turn into a bigger circus than the California recall.

2. perhaps, but her electibility is the issue

3. Now yes, but once she's up against Bush, the whores will do their jobs. Imagine what FAUX would do.

4. Yes, maybe she's popular in NY, but NY is hardly representative of the whole nation. I doubt the Republicans in Georgia, or even Iowa feel the same way.

5. While that may be true, it really doesn't matter. Too many have been turned off to her due to the 8 years of smearing the Clintons, and nothing will make her as non-polarizing as she is.

6. All the money in the world wouldn't matter once the media is blabbing about Clinton's penis all over again. She'd be on the defensive all the time and would have to use that money to defend herself, not attack Bush.

Honestly, I can't see any type of person who didn't vote for Gore but would vote for Hillary, but I can see many who voted for Gore who wouldn't. Her baggage may be unfair, but it's there.

Besides that, she'd be breaking her promise making her easier to attack, and we'd lose her Senate seat.

15. bad idea and here's why
right or wrong, the country is terribly polarized about Hillary Clinton. She wouldn't get ANYTHING done because too many people would be constantly fighting against her, like they did against Bill.

It would be a huge waste of everybody's time and energy. And would only be bad for the country in the long run.

I'd like to see this country actually come more together, not grow more apart.

16. there's another reason
while that incompetant clown squatting in Al Gore's house is about as far away from being a uniter as possible, Hillary isn't much closer.
