Sen.Fritz Hollings smokin' on the Senate floor
on U.S. trade agreements....he's been talking passionately for quite awhile about all the manufacturers sending jobs offshore. He's been great...read the transcript on C-span 2 or tune in.

1. a great statesman
I'll miss him. Too bad we'll probably lose his seat in S.C.

2. Fritz has his evil side
I applaud his speech today. On the negative, Fritz is a big proponent of putting "Fritz Chips" in electronic devices so that the use can be tightly controlled.

Google "Fritz Chip" to learn more.

4. I hope he does not run as I would like to see him go out as a winner.
SC is full of those right wing nuts.

5. South Carolina
As much as I'd like six more years of Hollings, I don't want his final election to be a loss. I was enormously disappointed that Fritz Mondale, one of my heroes, didn't win his final election for the Senate. The Senate will really miss the likes of Hollings, Byrd, and Kennedy.

On the other hand, we do have a candidate who can win in South Carolina. Inez Tenenbaum, the superintendent of the state, has a real chance of winning. Jim DeMint reminds me a lot of Bob Inglis (who is ironically running for DeMint's House seat) and I think that DeMint will slip in the polls and Tenenbaum will become the next senator of South Carolina. Here's to hoping the Southern Four Pack will be: Bowles, Tenenbaum, Young, and Deutsch.
