Strange: Rush denounces Stern's plight, on Drudge?!?
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 12:51 PM by Timefortruth
LIMBAUGH WARNS OF DANGER TO FREE SPEECH

(SKIP)
'IF WE ARE GOING TO SIT BY AND LET THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GET INVOLVED IN THIS, IF THE GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO 'CENSOR' WHAT THEY THINK IS RIGHT AND WRONG... WHAT HAPPENS IF A WHOLE BUNCH OF JOHN KERRYS, OR TERRY MCAULIFFES START RUNNING THIS COUNTRY. AND DECIDE CONSERVATIVE VIEWS ARE LEADING TO VIOLENCE?

What's up with that?

1. wasn't he accused of inciting violence
in a specific incident? He knows he crosses the line frequently with his schtick - and that this could quickly lead to his own censorship...

4. But Rush must know that what happened to Stern had
more to do with Stern's recent expressions of contempt for Chimp then what some caller said on the air. As long as Rush reads the talking points he's fine so he can't be worried about himself.

13. unless folks start making aggressive
complaints about his rhetoric whenever he (or a caller) crosses the line. Would think that if there is an aggregious enough one.. and enough complaints.. he knows he is an easy fall guy - why take down (symbolically) one not already partially down in self-inflicted freefall...

14. Tom Daschle claimed a while back that due to Limbaugh he was
getting death threats...forgot what issue it was...IWR, Patriot or Homeland security but it was one of those issues

2. Rush's motives are anything but pure,
but at least he gets it about free speech. Or maybe he gets it today. Or maybe he gets it at the moment he allegedly said that for Drudge. I dunno, he's too untrustworthy about owning up to what he's said in the past. So I fully expect him to take it all back once the Repukes have absolute control.

5. Rush is doing damage control
Rush knows damned well most die hard "shock jock" listeners are young, male, so called CONservatives (even if the jocks themselves aren't necessarily cons)

When Rush mentions the Democrats in his spew...he knows the uninformed will assume this whole "decency movement" is something that the so called (according to Rush) "politically correct liberals" put in motion.

I have watched these assholes pull this a million times. They slap restrictions on something because they are a bunch of Dana Carvey busybody church lady types and then when their own followers revolt they turn around and scream that the Democrats are behind it.

It's absurd but as we know most of the Joe blow public doesn't have a clue who is doing what in Washington and in the end the RW taliban always gets it's way without taking a hit in the polls.

6. Rush (draft dodger) Limbaugh is off his meds again
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 01:15 PM by bushisanidiot
desperately spewing anything that pops into his pea sized brain at the moment. I really don't think he knows what he's saying anymore. He's spun himself into so many circles that he's arguing with himself on-air on a daily basis.

"Angry" Howard Dean ain't got nothin' on Mad, Crack-less Rush..

7. limbaugh wants to ensure he has the right to inspire
future timothy mcveigh's to downsize the federal government. limbaugh, in keeping with conservative moral values, will then take zero responsibility for his actions as he did after fertilizing the seeds of hate in mcveigh's brain. he and his kind want to ensure that he and his kind are not censored, to hell with anyone with an alternative point of view.

9. Rush forgot most of the problem
He blames the government, but conveniently misses the point that it was Clear Channels (a corporation) decision to ban him.

Even if it were the government, he conveniently forgets to mention that it is the Radical Right that is censoring Stern.

right on Rush . perhaps the ACLU coming to his
aid , woke his ass up a bit .

Now if we could get him to say the same thing about
provisions within the PATRIOT ACT

12. Rush knows alot of his listeners probably listen to Stern as well
Not necessarily a huge overlap but some.

Rush actually defened Bill Maher though when he got the flack over the September 11 stuff
